A lost voice

It’s been a pretty normal Spring. Work is work and I’m busy doing the normal stuff there: liquid nitrogen shows, Van de Graaf demonstrations, and stuff like that. I also learned to take out the female bullfrog recently, which was really exciting because now I can show guests that the frog in Dino Hall is more that a blob of plastic.

This week has been a little odd. On Tuesday, I went over Scott’s for an impromptu mid-week party. I didn’t drink much because I had been coming down with a little something earlier in the week, but what I did drink was apparently enough to knock me off my feet.

The next day at work I got a little dehydrated and by the evening I had almost completely lost my voice. The next morning, it was gone altogether. I couldn’t even get enough of a whisper out to call Lee and let him know I couldn’t come in. I e-mailed him and tried to contact a few people, which was the best I could do.

Now, it’s Friday and I’m still a bit rough. I was supposed to go to Hershey Park today with Tom and his sister, but I was so tired when I woke up that I just decided to stay in, watch The Wire, and play games while I rested it off. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be back to normal. It’s the first day of The Summer of More Irresponsible Science and I’ll be wearing the new pink t-shirt to work. Should be a blast!

That’s all for now.
