A normal Friday

Things with Emily and I have settled down. We had a good time together while she was still here, hung out with Jess on her last night to play games with her dad, and smoked up a bit to relax. Then, we slept on her couch together until morning. Now, things are mostly back to normal.

As usual, I worked the 12-8 shift at the Science Center today. My first couple of hours, I took out Science Trivia, played with the Van De Graaf machine, and did the static electricity show. The show was awesome because a ton of kids were waiting outside before I got started and they started clapping and chanting for me to come out. It pumped me up and got me excited for the show! Then, when we were making people’s hair stand on end, they all started shouting and chanting to get their teacher to try it out. She was a good sport and her hair worked perfectly, standing on end like perfect lines.

After that, I worked Dino Hall until lunch. Normally on Fridays, Daniel and I would head down to the Trattoria in Federal Hill to get Chicken Parmesan sandwiches, but he got a shorter schedule because of his bar classes and doesn’t work late anymore. It’s kind of convenient and helps keep me from getting too close to him again or ending up in awkward situations.

As I walked over, I ran into a bunch of Korean teachers who have been touring the Science Center and taking classes there lately and they asked for directions to the market. I helped them find their way and recommended some restaurants (a good steak place, a place for blue crabs) to get food in the city. It felt good to help out some Asian tourists for once, instead of me getting helped by Asian people.

The sandwich and chips at the Italian place were good as usual and I worked on reading Crime and Punishment while I ate. Then, when I got back to work, I watched Dino Hall and built a couple of towers with Logan using the blocks. One girls asked me to help her make hers taller than mine, so I started building with her. When it reached a good height, she ran over and hugged me. It was pretty cute!

Then, I just sort of chilled in Newton’s Alley and drew with the Drawdios until quitting time. Not bad. Now, I’m going to meet Scott at Owl bar for a Pint or two. Tomorrow, I work, so I can’t stay out too late, though.
