What to write.?..what to write?

I feel the urge to write, but nothing in my head seems to want to jump out onto the screen. Maybe a survey will get the juices flowing

—————————–
1. What do you think about MTV; the shows, the videos, the sex and violence, censoring, and/or the Fight for your Rights campaign?:

I’ve never been a huge MTV fan. There are certain shows I’ll watch when I remember that they’re on (Pimp My Ride, Cribs), but MTV was never the huge cultural icon or controversial institution for me that it was for people in Generation X. I also don’t believe that I was ever in the disillusioned, apathetic demographic at which all their campaigns are aimed.

2. What are your thoughts on abortion?

I make a point not to argue political issues because without fail, people want to argue based on their ideology and not facts–So I’ll only say that I am STAUNCHLY pro-choice, though if I were ever actually presented with the choice, I don’t know what I would decide.

3. What do you think about reincarnation?

It’s not central to any of my beliefs, but I can’t say it’s impossible.

4. Should religion be in schools?

*sigh* To me, this is like everything else people cry about. It wasn’t a big deal until the entire “politically-correct” era began. People just look for things to be offended by nowadays. Everyone has to have something to complain about. My view is and always will be: If you don’t like it, don’t participate–but be prepared for the consequences that come with differentiating yourself from the majority.

5. Do pop stars have an obligation to be good role models?:

No…and that goes for all celebrities. I believe it is a PARENT’S responsibility to elevate celebrities that should be emulated and point out those that should not be, it’s all about personal accountability folks. Be
responsible for yourself and your children. Don’t expect Britney Spears and Kobe Bryant to do it for you.

6. What is your take on Dr.Laura?

I’ve never actually seen OR heard Dr. Laura with my own eyes and ears, and from what I’ve been told about her antics, I consider myself lucky.

7. Is sexual orientation a choice?

No. But let’s assume for the sake of arguement that it is. Who, in their right mind, with all the hatred, persecution, ostracism, etc. that comes along with it, would actually CHOOSE to be gay?

Exactly.

8. Whats your view on interracial relationships?

If it weren’t for interracial relationships, I wouldn’t have any relationships at all.

9. Can/Should teens have longlasting, meaningful romantic relationships?

Can they? I honestly don’t know. I know that at the time, I THOUGHT my relationships were meaningful and would be longlasting. But there are exceptions to every situation.

Should they? Depends on what kind of “teen” we’re talking about. Thirteen or 14? I’d lean toward no–there are too many other things going on in a 13 or 14-year-old’s life already. Sixteen or 17? Maybe…but it all depends on the kid, I suppose.

10. What do you think of meat eating?

PETA be damned, I’ll take a nice cut of beef every day of the week.

11. Is there anything morally wrong with the society we live in?

Of course. No matter which set of morals we use, someone’s always going to upset about something.

12. Will there ever be world peace?

Not as long as we’re still concerned with questions like, “What are your thoughts  on abortion?” and “Is sexual orientation a choice?”

13. Should marijuana be legalized?

No. There’s something called the “Slippery Slope Theory” that I adhere to on these issues. If you legalize pot, then eventually someone’s going to make a case for Ecstasy…and then acid….and so on and so on. Where does it stop?

14. What is your opinion on the right to bear arms?

I think the way it’s written is a little outdated for 21st century needs, but in and of itself, the right to own a firearm is perfectly acceptable. I don’t own one, but who am I to say that the guy next door can’t do what he feels is necessary (within the law) to protect himself and his family?

Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.

15. Is the reality portrayed on tv/movies a crock of shit?

Well, there’s a reason movies are a form of escape–to get away from REAL life.

16. Do you watch Survivor?

Religiously. Along with “The Amazing Race,” “Big Brother,” and even little pseudo-reality shows like “American Chopper” and “Dog the Bounty Hunter.”

17. What are your favorite tv shows?

WWE Raw and Smackdown, The Amazing Race, American Chopper, Alias, Survivor, SportsCenter

18. Do you read any magazines?

Sports Illustrated.

19. Ever watch Politically Incorrect?

No. Comedians have no business hosting politcal shows.

20. Is Bush an idiot?

Yes. If only because he had the perfect life as the owner of a Major League Baseball team and he left it to eventually take the worst job in the world.

21. Do you want to be famous/what for?

I used to want to be famous, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to value my privacy. I’d rather do worthwhile things behind the scenes.

22. Watch the nightly news?

Not really. Most of my news comes from the Internet.

23. Read the newspaper?

Yes, on the Internet.

24. How should the media cover the school shootings?

I think the media is on the right track with how they’re covering these incidents. People need to know that it’s not always a bed of roses out there…and the best way to combat this stuff is by making people aware that it is happening.

25. Does life imitate art or does art imitate life?

Art is a result of inspriation. Inspriation comes from living life, but it can also come from art. So yes.
