It took them two months to complete the whole “customizing” process.  If I had known that, I’d have gotten started on it sooner.  In the end though, it turned out better than I could have imagined.  I had been so consumed with that process that I had put no thought into what I was going to do once it was finished.  I went to pick up the finished product and realized I had to think fast.

I got back in my car and stared at it for a while, trying to work up nerve I knew I didn’t even need.  I stuffed it in my bag and went home.  A million different scenarios went through my head.  Each time, I shook them off as being not quite right.

That was almost a week ago.  I’d been carrying it around with me ever since, looking for the right opportunity.  Last night proved to be that opportunity.  It wasn’t going to be what I had envisioned, which is to say it wasn’t going to be perfect, but it had been long enough and I didn’t want to wait any longer.  Marci came home and changed and then sat next to me.

I got on my knees and I told her how much I loved her and how happy she made me.  I told her she could make me even happier…

…If she would marry me.

It wasn’t the perfect proposal.  There were no frills, no fanfare.  It was simple.  She was wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt at the time and we celebrated with the same meal we had the first night we met each other–Taco Bell.

No, it wasn’t perfect, but it was perfectly, “us.”

We have plans to have a more elaborate celebration on Friday night.

Oh, yeah…she said yes.  =)

No official date yet….We’re planning on mid-July.

Just thought you’d like to know.

RYN: All of the talking heads on ESPN think this was a good move for Sac, especially because of the offensive powerhouses in the Suns & Sonics. I think they underestimate the impact that DC has not only on the game, but on his team mates as well. He will be missed. I certainly hope that this is an improvement for the Kings and doesn’t prove to be detrimental instead.

How do you think adding Mobley, and taking away Christie will affect this team’s already questionable chemistry?

ryn: well, aren’t you clever! I loved the story, but I must ask, am I the big dog or the little dog? I think that I am the big dog and he is the little dog. 🙂

Happy Birthday!!!! 🙂 And Happy Valentine’s Day, too. What did you think about the “block” by Eric Dampier on Mobley’s shot? You don’t need me to tell you what I think about it lol

RYN: I’m working on getting him bigger! Feeding him Pediasure, carbs, vitamins, and lots of junk food. He just does not take after me and doesn’t seem to enjoy food.

I’m eagerly awaiting your take on this trade deal. It’s an end of an era and the subsequent rebuilding of a franchise. I’m still sad.
