Civic Duty, Job Security, Kid Stuff, and more

I didn’t plan to update today, but one of my friends has developed an unhealthy obsession with my diary, and has implored me to do it, so here goes. As always, I’ll be hitting on a lot of stuff, so fasten your seatbelts.

Monday, I was called in to jury duty. I’ve done once before and it was hell, so I was hoping to get through one day without being selected and then be off the hook.

For a while, it didn’t look like that would happen.

Around 3:00 p.m., I was selected for a panel. I tried to get the judge to release me because I was a student, but since it’s Spring Break, he didn’t.

I was selected to sit in one of the alternate chairs and was eventually moved up into the jury box after about an hour of questioning. As I sat though, the defense attorney excused me.

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!

Not that I don’t see the importance of jury duty as a civic responsibility…but man, it’s sooooooooo tedious.

Part of the reason I didn’t want to serve on a jury this time was that today I planned to come to work and save my job.

Because our governor is a dumbass, we have a budget crisis here in the state. State organizations are being asked to cut 10% of their budget…so we were asked to give a presentation on our operations, so that the big wigs could make some decisions.

Somehow, we thought this meant we students would be defending our existence.

Paranoia kills, folks.

Everyone can relax…our jobs are safe. We heard a rumor and ran with it. Shame on us.

Now that the stress is gone, I can focus on the rest of my Spring Break….Sierra Nevada Brewery trip on Saturday!

In other news….My stepdad was able to get ahold of a Bobby Jackson Sacramento Kings bobblehead doll. They’re hot commodities here in the area.

Anyway, it somehow became Lilly’s toy. She likes to slap B-Jax around watch his head bounce.

I’m trying to get her to imitate it when I say, “What does Bobby Jackson do?”

I’ll keep ya posted.

Until next time…

First of all, I do not have an obsession w/your diary! I just want you to update because I know some of your readers are not lucky (or unlucky) like to me be able to talk or see your everyday. I’m sure they would like to know what is happening in your life. Secondly, I said I would give you a cookie per paragraph. One sentence is not a paragraph. Try harder next time. OH. out of letters. bye
