Womanhood

Who are these people that buy underwear for Mother’s Day gifts?  I am on several email lists of clothing and underwear sites (because I enjoying shopping for underwear, I admit it) and I’m shocked by how many of them are running special Mother’s Day promotions for bras and panties.  I think I have a pretty open relationship with my moms and I wouldn’t even consider such a thing.  That just seems weird.

Last year I got Cindy a small Mother’s Day gift, figuring she would be happy to be celebrating it for the first time as a mother.  Now I fear I’ve created a tradition and I’ll have to get her a gift every year.  And then Guy gave me a gift.  When I reminded him that I am not a mother and never will be, he told me that he thinks Mother’s Day is a celebration of womanhood, whether I’m a mother or not.  I liked that.  I’m not sure all mothers would agree, but it was sweet.

I have my second job interview tomorrow afternoon.  I guess I’m kind of looking forward to it.  If nothing else, I’m gaining some interviewing experience.

The baby is due pretty soon and Megan is showing up on Monday.   Like I’ve said before, it will be fun to have her around at least for a little while.  I suspect she will over-stay her welcome, however.

I shouldn’t speak bad of Megan, I’m planning on asking her to be my maid of honor.

Do you think your younger sister will be upset youre choosing Megan as your maid of honor? She seems a little more sensitive/ not as even tempered as your older sister.

I think the idea re: the underwear is for husbands to buy them for their wives (who are mothers)… i don’t think it’s for kids to buy for their moms… 🙂

I know you must be looking forward to gettting married and seeing your sister again. 🙂
