Philly

Guy and I just checked into our hotel room in Philadelphia.  My consultation with the surgeon is tomorrow morning, and then we are going to just spend the weekend here on a mini-vacation.  I’m looking forward to just being alone with Guy for a few days.  I don’t realize how stressful it is to always be around my sister and the baby until I am able to get away from them and relax.

I’m really looking forward to meeting with the surgeon tomorrow.  Even if she ends up not being the right surgeon for me, I know this will be a very informative experience.  And who knows, maybe I will be back here in a few weeks or months to have my surgery.  That would be nice.  I actually have no idea how long the typical wait is between consultation and surgery.  I suppose I’ll find that out tomorrow.

I’m ready to have the surgery right now.  I really want to have a body that matches.  I want to not feel uncomfortable being naked.  

In one of my womens studies classes,  I am currently working on a project with another woman from my class.  She is someone I didn’t know very well before we were assigned to work together.  Now that we’ve been spending time together, she told me the other day that she had originally expected to constantly view me as a guy trying to be a girl.  But she said that when she sees me all she sees is a woman.  That felt good to hear.

Hopefully I’ll find time to update tomorrow after the consult.
