In writing

Just a quickie so I can share the other big news that I didn’t mention in my last entry.  

My therapist has given me her written approval to have surgery.  I don’t think there was ever really a question that it would happen, and I wasn’t really rushing her because I wasn’t really in a rush myself.  But now she has made it official.  All it really means is that I will have something in writing to show a surgeon when that day comes.  Most surgeons won’t consider doing any sort of gender reassignment surgery without something in writing from a mental health professional. And I guess that’s a good thing.

So I don’t know if I have written this before in my diary, but I have decided the surgery is definitely something I want to do.  I don’t think it will happen soon.  Probably not within the next year.  But I want to do it eventually.  I need to figure out wedding details first!
