Racism (long rant)

These lands were not ours to take when they shared with us so generously. Obvilious to what was gona happen. Slowly their oppions and rights slipped away. We abused them and hurt them, we used them and diverted them. Pushing them onto reserves.

My people were farmers. We were still broke. But we got lands granted to us and funds for us when we came here. We came here with our beliefs to this country. I wouldnt go into a catholic church and try and force their religion away. But these lands werent owned or claimed. This was not the way. Lands were shared and cared for. People living in harmony.  This is why the lands got taken away so easy, they werent armed to fight, they were sharing and trusting. 

 But all of us now, we were all born here. Chineese, Africian, Caucasian, Native, East Indian, but we cant get along. Why? If you didnt notice we are still fightin the same battle. Right now we are forced to live Caucasion ways. Not saying that if your white you agree with gov’t im just sayin not everyone is used to it. Natives act native Chineese act chineese.  We are all following the gov’t that may not always be lead by white people, but has a white system. The only thing bad about that im saying is that it makes everyone racist. We hate everyone else because they dont act like us we think they are crazy because they talk different, learn different, have different backgrounds. When we assume we should all be the same.  We hate the natives because the recovery they are going through that we deny. All I wish is for people to be aware in the DRASTIC change this generation for everyone. I think to make a better future we need to be aware of that. I cant speak for any other race thats why im not talking alot about them but I know natives, Canadian history, and enough about the government and what i see everyday from people. Just admit we cant adapt EASILY.

This generation is another step. I wish people would remember that Natives are not the only ones who drink. They are not the only ones who are racist. They are not the only ones who are different. Im just sayin this because i hear it all the time and im tired of it "natives dont work" "they are bums" "alcoholics" "THEY HAVE IT SO EASY" "NOBODY IS RACIST THESE DAYS" The last two is what gets me. Fact: They do have a hard time getting jobs when they are educated on reserves, take jobs on the reserves and people do not take that as experience to get a job off reserve. Some employers are racist.(im not saying they CANT get jobs just saying for some it can be hard)  People who say those things are racist.

Yes, natives are racist too against white people because of the anger they still have. That is not okay. I wish they would realize that its not people in this generation who put them into residential schools and most people now would never do that. The reason im sticking to one side mroe than the other is because I dont hear natives being racist nearly as harshly or as often.

However…………..I think most people that are racist just dont know the truth about this.  The truth for me is: how can the gov’t make laws for all people to follow, put all races into one country adapting to eachother and expect us to get along right away. I wish people would admit the truth, "we are racist, it does exist" Stop trying to act like we should  all have a easy time living the same culture when there is freedom of religion. Freedom of religion…thats a good thing. Living the same rules, its good for what we have right now since we are all together.

Im gona say this one more time though. We are not all the same, we should accept eachother for our differences and support eachother, but its like step brothers and sisters, we dont have the same past its not gona be the same. Im gona kill somebody if people keep ranting on about natives when they KNOW i consider them family when they know i was raised more native than white. I might be whtie but its hard to hear. This is how i knwo the racist secrets..people feel comfortable dissing natives to me because im not one. I know the native secrets because i am close with them. I dont hate white people, i just wish they would stop being racist against natives. I hear it more from them than the other way around.

That being said. If anyone even happend to read this (which i seriously doubt) I dont mean to offend anyone. All i want is for people to understand these things. I just wish people would understand the races backgrounds and history, be aware of the differences we have so we can understand why we are all different, before being racist. Just accept we are different and be okay with it.  But i feel if i only say that people wont understand what i mean. Thats what i mean.

Im not really putting this up for anyone to read, more of a vent. I moreorless feel like people arent gona understand where im coming from and not like this. Oh well. Its just another persons oppinions. If i have helped anyone to see things thats good. Oh well whatever response i get from readers,,,,well it could be a bunch. But i doubt anyone will read this cause its too long
