An update for those who care

Well, I’m sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I’ve been incredibly busy and this is the first three hour break that I’ve had in a while…..of course I’ll have to go rushing back to work since we have a performance tonight. We opened “You Can’t Take it With You” yesterday and audiences liked me, but I don’t have much stage time so I still am thrown in the background.

Story Theatre opened today and I’ve got a large part….but it’s only an hour show and oohhh dwell. The director of State Fair is a lazy idiot who hasn’t shown up or even taken control of his rehearsals the way a director should. The community likes him because he’s from here, but I’m sorry, he’s a dumbass.

The new SR71 CD rocks. I love SR71. Things are going well in all other fronts as well, though I haven’t had time to write a screenplay lately. But I have a lot of money and I get to go see movies. Here are just some short movie reviews:

HULK: Did I do this one? 3 of 5

Nolte is excellent. So is Bana. Connelly’s character is too whiny, but Sam Eliot’s character rocks. The style of the movie is unique and excellent…but there was quite a bit of boring down-time. And one may argue that that’s because we stupid pop-culture-bred people have too short of attention spans….

The fact of the matter is that when you edit a movie, you’re supposed to eliminate the needless portions of film…the parts that do not matter much to the overall picture. And Ang Lee doesn’t do a good enough job of it. I also thought the climax didn’t have enough build and the Hulk didn’t have enough time fighting with the curse of who he was so that we really felt the end was a turning point.

T3: 4 of 5

A great movie. I liked it a lot in fact. This one finds Arnold acting even more mechanic and that’s excellent, since that makes his lines and everything funnier and his acting-talent less integral. The enemy Terminator is a hybrid of the first two baddies and that’s cool, because it brings about all these new interesting points about it’s ability to both shift into other forms while not getting frozen solid like poor T2.

This movie also has a very good actor playing John Connor and very good echoes from the first two, that allow us to tie all three movies together. I would really go see this movie, the writing is excellent and it actually has really good special effects….they seem almost seamless, and the movie is rather violent in a very cool way. Go see it…it’s well worth the money.

And finally I leave you with a song from SR71’s new CD, it’s called Tomorrow. I gotta go.

Is it any wonder

Why I’m scared?

If I was a little younger

Would I care?

Feeling like the walls

Are growing stronger,

I don’t know if this cage

Can hold me any longer.

You never dreamed you’d have

To live your life so guarded,

Cuz they’ll find a way

To make you feel discarded.

I’m not afraid of tomorrow.

I’m only scared of myself.

Feels like my insides are on fire.

And I’m looking through the eyes of somewhat else.

I never thought they would want me

To go even faster,

Never thought I took my foot

Off the gas.

Everybody loves to be

In on the pressure,

But I know they’re all waiting

For the crash.

You never dreamed you’d have

To live your life so guarded,

Cuz they’ll find a way

To make you feel discarded.

Things have changed,

You’ve become a complication,

Can’t make it through

Another day’s humiliation.

I’m not afraid of tomorrow.

I’m only scared of myself.

Feels like my insides are on fire.

And I’m looking through the eyes of somewhat else.

Is it any wonder why

I’m so damn petrified…

Is it any wonder why

I’m so scared?

I’m not afraid of tomorrow.

I’m only scared of myself.

Feels like my insides are on fire.

And I’m looking through the eyes of somewhat else.

I like SR-71, too. “Tomorrow” is a great song. I downloaded it a few months ago instead of buying the CD…not something I’m too proud of, but I’m poor. :o) I hope the shows continue to go well for you.
