what am I getting myself into?

So, I’m just sitting here like a loser. Doing nothing like I always do. I guess I can’t wait to go back to work, but I also don’t want to.

Its nice being able to go to bed whenever and get up whenever. I can make plans at all times during the day. It has been like that for 2 months.

I go back on Monday. I work Monday-Friday at the casino 8-4. Then I work at the hotel serving Monday-Thursday 430-close. The hotel also called and asked if I would be able to work a private party Saturday night. Its only for 25 people, but dinner is nice because people order drinks and dinner is just generally more expensive. I could make a nice chunk from that depending if they are drinkers or not. Lets pray I get some alcoholics!! lol What am I getting myself into? I know, I know, we need the money for the wedding so we can actually afford to pay for it.

Now that the day is getting closer and closer I am getting more and more excited. I can’t even tell you. I still have to wrap up a couple small lose ends, but everything is pretty much in place. Well the big things.

Stuff I still have to do/buy:

  • Bra thing for my dress ( I have my dress, shoes, jewelry, hoop skirt :), garter and veil..my grandma is making those)
  • I have all the readings picked out and my readers, but I have to find one more because Jenn can’t come ::big sad face 🙁 Danae and I have to sit down with my cousin and pick out the songs
  • The rings are ordered, and have been. The guy isn’t calling me back. I just need to pay for those.
  • I have the photographer picked out (owe $300) on that
  • I have the meeting with the florist on the 18th to finalize. I am changing all the girls bouquets and the guys boutinners (sp?) so I have no idea what that is going to cost.
  • I have the meeting with the cake place on the 23rd. I have to make sure to keep this as cheap as possible.
  • All the girls have their dresses and the guys all went and got fitted
  • My grandma is going to make the ring bearer pillow
  • I need to buy my bridesmaids gifts. I know what I want, I just need to buy them. I should probably do that soon just because that will be something to get out of the way.
  • I need to buy all the alcohol. Ew. That is going to be a lot. I am just going to steal lemons and limes from the hotel and have my sister grab some too. Why buy when you can "borrow"?
  • I need to make a list of food we are going to need for the rehearsal dinner, (BBQ!!) I am just going to make everything myself with the help of my mom, grandma, josh’s mom and bridesmaids. We can all make something and then just chill. I also already picked out the time with the priest to do the rehearsal.
  • I made the hair and make-up appointments ( I know what I am doing with my hair too)
  • I need to find out where the girls want to get their mani’s and pedi’s
  • I think the bachelorette is going to be on the 30th.
  • I just have to design the favor tags (Jenn, could I possibly recruit some help from you on this, I am not creative like you!!) and tie them on and the favors are done.
  • I bought all the escort cards and my mom also made this board thing that will help me assign seats.
  • Everything is worked out with the caterer. We just have to pay for it. The menu, linens, times, and all the jazz are all picked out.
  • I have to get a limo.
  • The DJ is picked out and paid for in full. The songs are also picked out.
  • Josh’s mom picked out some nice citronella candles for when the bugs come out. I am also going to buy a couple cans of spray for everyone to use.
  • The tables, tent, lighting, dance floor, chairs, are all taken care of. The rest of the money that Josh’s dad is giving us is going to pay for that.
  • I have to find a hotel and make a reservation. I need to do that asap too!! oie. I completely forgot! Crap.
  • Got the marriage license.

There isn’t really much big things to do. Just small things and paying for everything.

I just can’t wait for this day. Everyone is writing nice things on the response cards saying how excited they are and stuff. It makes me feel like people are really truely happy for us.

I still can’t believe how much stuff goes into planning a wedding. I just hope I make it!!

I have physical therapy tomorrow. then really nothing. So, maybe I will go shopping and pick up some of the girls’ gifts. I have an idea for what I want to do, I just don’t know how yet.

Oh, also any suggestions on some nice songs to be used during the ceremony. I know nothing about that kind of thing. I have a best friend music major and a cousin opera singer, but they are asking me what I want and I don’t know. So, any help that you can offer would be great.

Maybe I should get to bed? Maybe not….

i can tell you what we used at our wedding. i just have to look it up lol. BUT, i will say, cannon in D is one of my favorite songs everrrr. wedding or not. and that is the song my bridesmaids walk to. now, everytime i hear it, i think of the excitement i had waiting for my turn to walk down the isle. it’s so pretty 🙂 then we did the bridal march for when i walked down the isle, andthe bridal chorus for the way out. i believe that’s what they’re called, but they’re the typical wedding songs. i’ll have to look up the rest of them. i can help with the favor tags, i made mine and they’re really easy. just tell me what you’re looking for!

Hopefully you won’t over do it. Sounds like things are coming along. I found lots of favor ideas online and printed my own. Hope you have a good one.

Canon in D when bridal party is walking down the aisle. Trad wedding march when you’re walking back down the aisle with hubby. For the middle, stuff like Only Time by Enya, Josh Grobin has a few nice ones, Michael Buble – if you want more specifics, I’ll give them, I’ve been to a lot of weddings and still have all the stuff to scrapbook!

Wow just reading all you have to do is bringing back memories and giving me anxiety LOL. I didn’t walk down the aisle to the traditional wedding march, I walked down to Beautiful by Wayne Brady. LOVE that song. My cousin and his wife sang our songs for us. They sang “From this moment on” when my dad gave me away, “When I said I do” while we did the signings. There you go, good luck!

I just wanted to add that you don’t HAVE to use the traditional songs. If there are love songs that you simply adore then use those. Hopefully you figure it out =)
