falling into place…kinda?
So today I had the meeting with the photographer and he is super nice. Him and my dad have been friends since forever so he gave me a great deal. I want Jenn to make the scrapbook for me, so I didn’t get any of his packages because I didn’t want them to include the photo album that he puts together for you. So, I just got the full day coverage and the CD where he will put all the pics on it and then I can just have at it. I can still order pics from him which I might do for one or 2. But I will have the CD to be able to order pictures and print them myself from like Walgreens or something. The pictures will be great quality, but I dont want to spend 3209482 dollars on getting the pictures developed. I gave him $200 deposit. I figured why not because then we don’t have to worry about it later down the road. My dad said that he wanted to help with the photography, so maybe he will pay for the rest? that would be suuuper nice.
I have the meeting with the florist on Monday. I definitely will be going with her.
The DJ is a friend of Josh’s mom’s.
My Dad said that my Grandpa would talk to this guy he knows about getting us a limo. Sweet! I didn’t think that we were going to have anything like that.
We put the deposit down on the cake, but I found another place that I want to go to, so I don’t know if I am going to get the deposit back. But this place I found, the price is only $1.75 a person versus the $3.09 it was for the other. I am trying to get as many discounts as I can.
I want to finalize which dress I’m getting. I’m not going to be able to pay for it right away because i don’t have $500. I’m not too worried about the bra thing or the "make-my-skirt-poofy" thing either because I know that I can get either whenever its convenient for me.
The girls picked out their dresses. So, they can order those whenever they need. Hopefully before summer lol I know my aunt said that if I needed any help paying for my dress that I should call her. I dont want to call her looking for charity, but how much is appropriate to ask for? Ill take anything really, but I don’t want to ask for too much, or not enough. We are going to need all the help we can get, so even if she wants to give up $200 I would be completely happy with that.
I have been looking at more places to have the ceremony. Maybe right at Josh’s Mom’s. Buy and assemble our own trelis? (sp?). Having it right at the Falls is no charge. I would just have to make sure that anyone who couldn’t stand for 30 minutes has a chair to sit on.
The reception is definitely going to be at his mom’s. There will prolly only be 150-165 people out of the 200 that we invite that will actually come.
I picked out the invitations that I liked from Joanne’s but I am going to make Josh buy them because I paid the deposit on the photographer.
I want Banchetti’s to cater it but I want to get the $2000 from Josh’s dad before I book them because I will just give them all of that. Then Josh and I will only owe like $1200-$1500. Which won’t be bad after working over the summer.
I have money put away from my Grandma that is mine that I could also take some out of there if I need to.
The only other thing that I really have to get a move on with is the table, chairs, and the tent. I gotta figure something out with that.
My friend Sara that works at the hotel said she would bartend for free. My grandpa is gonna get me liquor and beer and I am going to try and borrow or "rent" a portable bar from the hotel if there are some available.
I am still trying to figure something out for the favors and the bridesmaids gifts, but I still have 8 months. That doesn’t seem like a lot of time does it??
Oh man…what am I getting myself into?
I hear you. I’m 10+ months from mine and I’m already hyperventilating. But it seems like you have a great hold on it all! Just hang in there!

Gosh, planning a wedding sounds sooo stressful! (But totally worth it) Good luck!

dude you can totally borrow my hoop skirt and/or crinoline!

ryn: well maybe not the crinoline, but the hoop skirt could fit you & me both in it!! it has a string around it that i had to totally wrap around my body twice just to tie it tight enough to stay on me lol. it’s up to you, i have everything stored at matt’s mom’s so it’s already in b-lo….the only thing is, the bottom of it might be a little dirty from walking around outside so much (you wouldn’tsee it anyway, though), and…i was sort of a sweaty susan that day lol. if you want to buy your own, you can get a 2-hoop one on bestbridalprices.com for like $35 – that’s where i got mine.

ryn: Yes! they are adorable. and any favor under $2 is pimp, if you ask me! (from the bride’s wallet’s perspective anyway)
