holy toledos folks

we took it to the next level, we stepped it up, we delivered…holy toledos. -in the words of my band director lol. shes too funny. Sooooo let me tell you about tour. For those of u i didnt tell….fredonias wind ensemble takes a little tour to highschools and stuff every spring, and we just had it last week. We went to sayville, riverhead, both on long island, ulster county…which was…somewhere in NY…?? and monte clair (sp??) university in new jersey. Holy hell it was tiring..fun, but tiring. The pure insanity on the 8 and 9 hour bus rides made me laugh a lot, so that was good:~) the bus rides were aided by a lot of sugar, many failed attempts to sleep, and a couple movies. also some plastic wrapped bananas..and for a brief time period a porn magazine lol. we started losing it after awhile ..and everything became funny, im sure youve been there.

well, we left on wed morning at 530 in the AM…half asleep.. arrived in sayville long island around 3pm, practiced..ate dinner..practiced a bit more and played a concert. Then, that night some of us stayed with host families..like, families of the kids who went to the highschool we were playing at. can i just say..holy rich ppl. every family that people stayed with, all i heard was “really nice houses” the place we stayed at had a real nice house…buncha bathrooms…one shower with a heated floor!..wish i had one of those lol, and the dad was like aww if u guys had brought bathing suits u could go in the hot tub…were like….hot…tub?:~( two of the guys i know stayed with this family who put them in the basement…..except their basement was like a whole house in itself…huge tv all finished off..nice. they offered to take them to the city that night! the guys were telling them how we werent gonna get to go to the city at all, and they offered to take them! but anyway….we got to bed around 1230…up at 6 ..ugh.. got ready and were back at the highschool and on the busses to our next destination. got to the second highschool maybe an hour later..which was in river head..still long island. we rehearsed, played a concert at about 930 am for some pretty unresponsive highschoolers….and were on our way again. next to ulster county community college. got there at…i dont remember what time.. rehearsed..a lot…..ate dinner, and played another concert. That night i stayed at my friend kristens house, she lives about 45 min from where we were on the island, so it worked out. It was nice, better than staying in a strangers house. so..that night, i got to bed around 1230..got up at 5:~/..we left back on the bus at 630 for monte clair new jersey. got there around 930. now, this is where we played for this…CBDNA thing..College Band Directors National Associatiation i think. Apparently its a big deal….none of us really knew what it was about..all we knew was our band director sent in a tape of us last year, and they picked us to come play woo! I guess from what we were told its a pretty big honor to be picked to play there…so, yay! lol so, after we played that concert, we changed out of concert dress and got on the busses to go home. It was a looooong ride home. I got real jittery about 7 hours into it..couldnt sit still. but it was fun..hung out with some people i dont usually hang out with a whole lot, and that was good. I didnt even really think about it, and the only shoes i brought…..were heels….two pair of them….so i was in heels for like 3 days…my feet hated me a lot. they hurt pretty bad lol.

I dont know if its true, but i heard a couple people say my director was thinking of trying to take us to asia..japan..or something along those lines next year….now that would be sweet! especially if we dont have to pay for it…i didnt pay anything for this trip..just the occasional bit of food when we stopped at places while on the road.

so that was my big long story:~) time to go do something unproductive now…cause im on spring break!!:~)
