Legalization of marijuana

The title says it all so technically I don’t need to delve any further into the subject but I guess that I should being that I opened the door and brought the subject up.

Their has been and still is a great debate going on concerning the legalization of marijuanna aka cannabis, for recreational and medicinal uses and great strides have been made in the advances for medical uses of cannabis. California has to be the leader and main contributor in the progressivness of the legalization of cannabis and for the opening of cannabis clubs, in the open for all to see, despite the laws of the land at the time.

It is true the operators of these clubs were breaking the law and could face substantial fines and jail time but most were ran to help those with medical conditions, for example, cancer patients can use cannabis to help ease nausea from chemo treatments and glaucoma patients can use it to help with the pressure in their eyes. Sufferers of chronic pain can use cannabis to help alleviate their pain and to feel more relaxed.

Naturally, recreational users want it to be legalized mainly due to random drug test at work and the possibility of getting busted by the law for possession. It has been proven time and time again that marijuanna is in fact safer and non-addicting than alcohol and the smoking of cigarettes. The big difference in uses is that it is completely legal to use and abuse tobacco and alcohol. There is not 1 reported or documented death due to an overdose of cannabis. How many deaths are there each and every day brought on by the use of the legal use of alcohol and tobacco???  The numbers are astounding.

I have always been for the legalization of cannabis even tho I have not partook of it in almost 25 years. The worst thing that ever happened to me when I did enjoy a smoke from time to time was that I ran out of food and still had the munchies. Due to somewhat recent changes in my own health, I am even more so in favor of making cannabis legal, atleast for medical reasons but I would truly love to see it made legal to use for recreational purposes also. it could be grown in a goverment controlled facility and regulated much like alcohol and tobacco and naturally it would be taxed. It’s a win win situation for all.

The debate continues still and unless legalization takes place, the debate will always be there but more and more states are making the use of cannabis legal for medical purposes and thats a good start. Here in Florida, 2 bills have been introduced, 1 in the House and the other in the Senate to vote on and to determine if it can be put on a ballot for the public to decide. If both the House and Senate vote in favor of the bill it would only take a public vote of 60% in favor of to make medicinal use legal. Alot of people might be against the legal use of marijuanna now but if something was to happen to them like they develop cancer and have to take chemo then I bet you they would have a change of opinion once they realized cannabis could help ease their suffering.

I am done with my ramblings and just wanted to put things out there but I do sincerly hope that for anyone that might read this that they stop and think before they possibly criticize others for their views and thoughts on the subject at hand.

RYN: I’m not bothered by foreigners enjoying our freedoms, because that’s how this nation got its start in the first place. What really pisses me off is when foreigners come here, and they use our own system against us and try to manipulate the legal in an attempt to have some of our freedomes suspended for their benefit.

I agree, I don’t know why it’s not legal already, do you know how many jobs and money it would bring to the economy if people could grow it and sell it like corn, not to mention the health benefits, I am all for the legalization of cannabis, and I think we are closer than ever to making it happen, more and more people are taking a stand, more and more people are getting educated on the subject andare seeing it for it’s positives not just the negatives.
