Triple the Chins
My sister came down today to spend a few days with us. We had my grandmother’s birthday dinner tonight and tomorrow we are doing Thanksgiving at my other grandmother’s house and then Friday is my mother’s birthday. So, triple the food and triple the chins.
Do you ever wonder if the actors in makeup commercials are really wearing the makeup they are advertising?? I mean, I’ve always heard that makeup artists use a special kind of makeup from the everyday stuff that will show up on screen, stuff like MAC that is really vibrant and has lasting power. I guess I would understand if they had to use something a bit more substantial to get the look they were going for but at the same time, it almost feels like false advertising because you will not be looking like that if you buy the makeup.
If I had more time and more money, I would definitely take a photography class. There are so many art classes I want to take at SCAD before I leave but being a senior, and having no money, I simply can’t do that. I do love cameras and taking pictures, though. I just wish I knew how to do it correctly. Naturally, I wouldn’t pursue it as a career but I think it would be an awesome hobby. Maybe one day I’ll be able to find a photography class somewhere. I haven’t taken many pictures lately but I’ve been feeling uninspired and without much time to do so. Hopefully I can make some time soon.
LEGO Batman was a fun game. Rented it the weekend I came back home and have been playing it ever since. I finished it tonight and enjoyed it. It was a little too silly sometimes, with all of the characters fumbling around and falling all over each other, but I suppose the little ones find that stuff hysterical. I’m also playing Cold Fear, which is another Resident Evil/Silent Hill rip off but it’s pretty spooky. It’s about a guy on a ship that has to blast al these alien zombies in the head. It plays a lot like Resident Evil 4 with the over the shoulder point of view and what I really like about it is when you aim for the head and shoot, their heads blow right off, unlike in Resident Evil, where you have to shoot them several times in the head. It was quite a let down because it was the first time in Resident Evil that you had control over where you were shooting and once you can actually hit a zombie in the head, it doesn’t even work. Oh well, it was still an enjoyable game.
And speaking of zombie games, there’s one that I’m stoked about. It’s called Left 4 Dead and hopefully I will own it this Christmas and me and my roommates can play it when I get back to school. The game relies pretty heavily on multiplayer coordinating which is awesome, so it’ll really make you feel like you are a part of a team. It also raises the stakes ‘cause if you screw up, someone will end up dead. I love it. Looks even better than Dead Rising.
I’m not really looking forward to tomorrow. I’ll be surrounded by a bunch of people I hardly ever talk to and have nothing in common with. Since everything has meat in it, I won’t be able to eat anything so I’ll probably just end up sitting on the couch with my sister, sipping tea and waiting for the boredom to end so I can come back home, eat some mac and cheese, and then take a nap. Yeah, it’ll be quite the day tomorrow…hm…
