Old buddies

Last night I was just poking around on the computer, and decided to try for the umpteenth time to track down one of my old friends.

He and I were really good friends my freshman year of high school.  To be honest, I had a huge, gigantic crush on him (and I’m fairly sure that he had some feelings for me too), but nothing ever happened.  The next year we both went to new schools, and pretty much lost touch.  I think I talked to him once a year or two later, but that was it.  I’ve always wondered what happened to him though.  My freshman year of college I heard from someone that he had gone to Emory.  My senior year (through a really roundabout way) I talked to a guy that I had gone to elementary and high school with, and he gave me a phone number to try.  Unfortunately, I put it off because I felt awkward after so much time, and then I lost the number.

Anyway, for some reason, things have been reminding me of him a lot lately, so I decided to renew my efforts.  It only took about ten minutes for me to find an email address at his med. school. =)  So I emailed him last night, and hoped that he is one of those people who checks their email regularly.  I reminded him who I was, but also told him that I’d be offended if he didn’t remember me anyway…..we had almost every class together, we were in a special gifted program together (with only 4 other kids from our school)—basically, we spent almost all our time together….the goodie-goodie hippie girl, and the drinking in class, smoking in the courtyard, bad-boy. =)

I checked my email this morning, and already had an enthusiastic reply from him!  He couldn’t believe I tracked him down, especially since he had just been thinking about me yesterday when a Beatles song came on his IPOD.  =)Hopefully, we are going to get together for coffee or something soon…..strangely enough, even though his school is several hours away, he still lives in Atlanta!  I’m so excited…..I can’t wait to see how this kid turned out.

Oh, and I’ve lost 5 pounds!  Go Jazzercise! =)
