Say it ain’t so

I don’t know why I felt like putting that as my title, but I did.

Yesterday (and today) have kind of been productivity fails, to the epic degree.  I went to class, did some test work, got some calculus help then went to lunch.  Had planned on spending a few hours after lunch hanging out in Panera doing school work.  The 19 year old from my calc class (who I’m 98% sure has a crush on me) ended up coming to lunch along with one of his friends.  So the three of us sat around talking and laughing and having a good time for about oh…4 hours.  >_<  Then the Twins texted me to come shopping with them so they’d have an honest third opinion about dresses (they have an office Christmas party, a wedding, and a NYE party, all semi-formal) so they were buying cute new dresses.  That was fun actually.

Then we all went out to karaoke with Kels dj-ing up north (his other gig) and I met one of the Twin’s new beau.  He seems sweet enough, in a dorky awkward sort of way. (His is the NYE party that the Twin is going to).  Somehow by the end of the night several things have happened: 1. I have been invited to the NYE party.  2. Twin 2 said that she was going to make an online dating profile for me with assistance from Twin 1 and her beau Carl.  I agreed to this.  She plans to make the profile and then proceed to screen all applicants…this should be fun.  This after we went through her entire friends list and I shot down every guy she showed me.  I wasn’t even doing it to be mean or to try and prove a point (no more dating), I just didn’t find any of the guys on her list attractive at all.  It’s pretty sad that I’ve set my standards so high now that apparently in 30+ guys I didn’t find a single one I would have given the time of day.  o_O

I am excited that I will get to go to a grown-up NYE party though, it being semi-formal, I’m busting out my cute dresses.  The problem is most of my cute dress shoes are not made to wear in the winter…So apparently I have to go shoe shopping.  I’m not finding anything online that I really like that’s in a decent price range.  Not like I’m going to buy it this week anyway.  I’ll probably have to wait and see if I have any money left over after my next paycheck.  As it’s supposed to be my ‘bank’ check from all that vacation time I’m using plus an extra 7 hours that didn’t go on my last check…yeah, hopefully this all works out.  I have a pair of black heels I could wear but they’re…well, somber.  Not really playful and the dress I’m looking at wearing is playful dress.  It has leopard print along on the bust with accents of pink and purple in the leopard print pattern and a swirly black skirt with bright pink trim along the ruffled edges but the edges are sort of skewed and layered so that I have lots of trim and it looks really cute, kind of like the one to the right only the top is different but that’s the style of skirt the dress has.  It’s really cute but like it sounds, picking a pair of shoes to match it is going to be tough, not to mention jewelry and all that nonsense.  Oh well.
