You know what grinds my gears? Anonymous noters. I don’t even know why. It doesn’t matter if the note is nice or hateful or just random, I don’t like not knowing who wrote the note, not being able to ask them about their note, or even to read their diary to be able to see what kind of a writer they are. But maybe that’s just me.

What sparks this tirade? An anonymous noter who has appeared multiple times in my diary now (or different people, again, I have no way of knowing because they are freaking ANONYMOUS!) making comments. They aren’t even rude or mean, they just are odd or sort of random, not following the topic of my entry at all and making me have a WTF moment.

The latest offender wrote about how s/he and his/her boyfriend said they loved each other wthin a month and started talking about marriage. Ummm, ok good for you? Seriously? I don’t know who you are so why would I care about you and your boyfriend? You could be 15 for all I know, in which case sorry but my natural reaction is to laugh at you. Your situation is you, who I don’t know and have NO information about. There is obviously no comparing apples to oranges. They’re both fruit and that’s about as far as you get. How you and your boyfriend are has no relevance to me, particularly since your little anecdote had neither advice nor words of encouragement nor any other point to it other than to talk about yourself. So it really just came across as you being a jerk and possibly being boastful too.

I updated all my settings so there will be no more anonymous noting (couldn’t do that from the mobile site at work when I originally wrote this entry).
