my fair wedding
I am obsessed with that show My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. I watch it all the time and today is a marathon. I’ve seen pretty much all of the episodes. Except for the cowgirl one. The preview for that one kind of scared me and I had to work so I didn’t watch it.
Isaac has watched it with me. We’ve decided I would need David to help me if I got married because I wouldn’t know where to start. Like every girl I’ve had a dream about what my wedding would be like but apparently I don’t really have a clue what I’m doing.
I looked at wedding magazines today while Isaac and I were at the bookstore drinking coffee. With so many people around me getting married, marriage is a huge part of my daily vocabularly. (For instance I had a pair of friends get married yesterday and another friend who is planning on getting married in the fall just no date set yet because she is marrying a soldier so it’s going to depend on his schedule once he gets back from his deployment.) I will also be a bridesmaid coming up in the same wedding I mentioned that has no date set yet. LOL. I know the kind of gown I will be wearing including the color and the white girl needs to tan apparently before then. Don’t think I could pull off that gold color otherwise.
So anyways. I looked at these wedding magazines. Now I’m terrified of getting married!! Do people actually realize how much work goes into planning one?! Holy crap! Flowers, location, wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, decorations, meal, favors, unity candle/sand, guest book, gifts, rehearsals, invitations, RSVPs, reminder cards, tables, seating charts…and that’s the iceberg’s tip!! It’s ridiculous. No wonder people hire wedding planners. Otherwise you’d never get anything done and certainly not on a schedule. Some people put these together in a few months! REALLY?!?! HOW???
I wanted to get married in the fall with the beautiful amber and red of the leaves as a backdrop. I thought that was enough to plan a wedding around….apparently I was wrong. All of the brides on My Fair Wedding have themes….when did weddings start having themes?
Jeez. David needs to come and plan my wedding or I’m never going to have one lol
Xx
if i ever get married to my boyfriend i’m sure we’ll have a really simple wedding that doesn’t cost much and doesn’t have that many people. only the people we care about. i care more about the fact that i will be married to him than about the wedding day.

People always seem to get married in clusters! I guess its some sort of social pressure. Yeah a lot of work and money goes into a wedding! It almost doesn’t seem worth it to me, but eh, what can you do. You’ll get it together I’m sure when it comes time for it! Hopefully these people expecting you to be in their wedding will come help you when its time 😛

Don’t get wrapped up in the stupid things for show, do what is meaningful for you and the groom 🙂 a friend of mine got married a couple years ago, they had a little ceremony out in the park near the trees and a lake. Nothing fancy, no theme, but it was cute and lovely 🙂 nothing wrong with that at all.
