feels like the start of something new *edit*
So maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but I feel like my life has made a turn somewhere without my real say-so in the matter. But the turn seems to be (mostly) for the better. Even though nothing but really kind of bad things have continued to happen. lol
I dyed my hair again today. It looks pretty good but I’m not sure the color shows up in pictures so I’m going to try and take one out in the sun tomorrow, which REALLY makes the color pop, which was what I was aiming for. I always enjoy going a little more red but I don’t want to be a full-out redhead because I think I’d look silly. But the really dark auburn-red color works on me. : )
But I thought it was time for a change. It felt right. I’d been kicking it around for months now but it just never seemed the time. Then today I decided it was time. Don’t know what changed or why but it did.
I’ve become more positive lately and people have commented on it. I can’t even begin to explain where it’s coming from because I certainly have the same crappy life I did before. And I still have nothing planned for after commencement so I’m still having panic attacks for all of that stuff. And my car is still a piece of shite. And Hunter is still an ijit and so is B. (Yes I am still friends with B. In fact we’ve had the conversation already about the fact that there was nothing really wrong with us, and in fact we were great as a couple, it was just the distance. So we remain friends in spite of his little chew-toy. But I’ll fill you in about THAT situation some other time).
I got rid of a buttload of stuff yesterday while I was cleaning. I emptied out a dresser drawer as well as 3 and a half storage drawers (storage drawers as in those clear plastic rolling storage units with the 3 drawers). I also organized my cards and stationary and mail, sorted out my pile of stuff that has to be shredded this week at some point. I want to try and tackle my closet this week too but I’m terrified of it because my closet has become kind of my ‘junk draw’. I have stuff in there that I know I probably should get rid of but I just can’t bring myself too because I spent good money on it and it’s a waste of money to throw it out when I want to use it again and hope to use it again. It includes stuff like both of my cages (for rodents), several board games I never really play but that are there for when family/friends come over, some collectible dolls and such, purses, books that no longer fit on my shelf but that I can’t bring myself to get rid of, bibliophile that I am. I just know that once I got rid of them I’d want to read them again. I know the saying is that if you don’t see it for 3 months you can probably get rid of it because let’s face it, if you didn’t miss it for 3 months you probably won’t miss it in 3 years. But with books the same rule just can’t be applied! You don’t re-read a book in 3 months; you come back to it a year or so later, after you’ve forgotten most of the plot and characters. If you fall in love with it again you continue to keep it. If you don’t then and only then can you donate it to a library (if it has been gently used and cared for as is the case for most of my books) or take it to a used book store if you have one. *sigh* My closet would be a huge ordeal and take more than just a day I think. And I still need to work on my report for the Genomic partnership project. *sigh* 10-15 pages probably. At least that’s what is really expected between all our charts, tables and images from the work we’ve been doing. Unfortunately I definitely think I’m lacking some key images so I may have to go back into the lab in my down-time on Monday. Which sucks but oh well. If this sucker stands a chance of getting published I’m dotting my i’s and crossing my t’s.
On a side bar, if you girls have ever thought of trying those StrapPerfect doodads, go down to your local Sally and GET THEM!!!! Mom and I picked a set up today on sale and they are AMAZING! I mean I have a nice rack to begin with but it was just like "Hello Nurse!" once I slipped one of those things on. And they’re comfortable!!! I am fully recommending them!
StrapPerfect
Grade: A+
Reason: They do exactly what they promise and you can get them at Sally for a reasonable price (it was <$10 for a set of 6 that also came with that double-sided style tape)*UPDATE* I found them at Dollar General for $5 now for the same set. Just goes to show, they are affordable!
(For whoever asked me what these are, if you’re a guy don’t worry about it. If you’re a girl, they’re a GIFT!!! They are these little, well, doodads basically that slide onto your bra straps and help provide extra support as well as make it easier to wear things like sports cut shirts and criss-cross backs without having your bra straps showing and looking tacky. They also make your boobs look AMAZING because they give them a little extra lift and oomph! XD )
