Lighting a candle of hope and prayer.

I’m quoting from another ODer’s diary:

"Today I read in a favorite’s diary about a woman called Fishermanswife, who is facing a very serious operation. My friend suggested that we show our support by lighting a candle for her in our diary.

Mattie, this is for you, to remind you that there are people all over the world who are thinking of you and sending loving thoughts of healing and strength to you.

If you light a candle in your diary, could you please let Mattie know? It is such a small thing… to care about what happens to another human being, It takes but a moment to think of someone else, and costs us nothing but a moment of our time. And yet, if Einstein is right, and energy can be neither created or destroyed, then the energy of our thoughts and good wishes, must have some influence on the universe and will touch Mattie in some way.

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do." ~ Edward Everett Hale

Personally, I believe in the power of prayer, of putting positive thoughts out into the ether of the Universe. We are One, no matter what color our skin, our eyes, our hair, no matter what our individual beliefs are  (or even if we have no beliefs at all) — we are all one and will remain so throughout all eternity. Believe it.

I have a hard time ‘adding’ things to my diary , probably just too lazy to learn. Anyway I am certainly joining my prayers with all the others going out for Mattie with firm belief that prayer is powerful medicine for the body as well as the soul.

That was a long time ago. I was thinking that she was through surgery by now. Hugs.

Hi Carol, thank you for your kind thoughts. This day, the 21th I started on my fourth year with cancer. Yes Georgette, though there’s no visable tumour anymore, due to radiation, I still have to have surgery. Probably on the 23th of September. At the moment I’m sailing Dutch rivers to be as fit and relaxed as possible for the big moment.
