Altered Books aka Book Art

Georgette writes of Book Art and shows a photo of an altered book. It reminds me of my own works from an altered book class I took a couple of years ago. Here are photos of my altered/folded books.

Heather Eddy, the altered book artist/instructor, participated with another paper artist (Origami artist/instrutor Michelle Caldera) and myself in a Paper Art Exhibit at the Tehachapi Museum in 2012.

Here’sa link to Heather’s Etsy site: http://www.etsy.com/listing/75236077/basic-folded-book-tutorial

And a photo from the Paper Art Exhibit:

That’s all for now … be safe, be well and please be happy. Remember to tell those you love that you love them…

Reminds me of the angels Mom and I used to make out of old books. I might take that up again, these are so neat!

Seems like there would be a lot of measuring along with the folding. The book that looks like it spells Beauty is really interesting. Must be difficult to make the curved shapes.

How do people come up with and then apply these ideas? It is amazing to me that someone would even come up with the idea, but then to patiently figure out the details to make it perfect. Amazing!
