Feeding 400 +/- and another quilt
This Saturday, Main Street Tehachapi will be holding their annual Moon Wine Walk, only this time they’ve added beer to the mix.People pay $25 (pre-paid, or $30 at the door) and receive a wine glass and 10 tickets. Each ticket is good for either 1 1/2 oz. of wine or 3 oz. of beer. The Depot is serving only white and red wine — no beer! Hooray! Beer is messy and it smells after all is said and done. Yeah, I’m not a beer drinker, but seriously, it’s bad enough if wine gets spilled on a wood floor, we don’t want the place to smell like a brewery. The president of Main Street Tehachapi estimates they’ll sell between 700 – 800 tickets for the event and she thinks the Depot will see at least 300-400 of those ticket holders. I’ve wound up being the one responsible for the food for the event and so DH and I did a wee bit of shopping today in Bakersfield. Smart & Final was the first place we went and I managed to find absolutely everything so we didn’t need to go to CostCo, but we needed gas, so to CostCo we went. Then we went in because we wanted to look for a pair of black jeans for DH. They didn’t have black, so we bought him a pair of blue ones. He’s still not been able to regain the weight he lost earlier this year, so his jeans size remains 32×32. We paid for the jeans then went out to buy lunch — the hot dog and soda for $1.50 can’t be beat.
Here’s the latest quilt — it’s for friends who are expecting the birth of their second and third great-grandchild. They’re having one of each — a boy and a girl. The girl is due October 25th and the boy is expected December 25th. This quilt is for the little girl. Our friend is having a difficult time right now — she lost her closest friend last week and she’s having trouble with her hips, lower back and legs to the point that she’s unable to walk very far and is in a great deal of pain. Anyway, I’m hoping this will cheer her up… It’s pinned and is ready for final quilting and binding.
Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.

Very very pretty!! Do you machine quilt, hand quilt, or have a quilter? Sorry but I do a little when I have time but no hand quilting for me. Have too much arthritis in fingers.
