“A tool that finds three times more breast tumors,
and why it’s not available to you!”

Dr. Deborah Rhodes is an expert at managing breast-cancer risk. The director of the Mayo Clinic’s Executive Health Program is now testing a gamma camera that can see tumors that get missed by mammography.

Working with a team of physicists, Dr. Deborah Rhodes developed a new tool for tumor detection that’s 3 times as effective as traditional mammograms for women with dense breast tissue. The life-saving implications are stunning. So why haven’t we heard of it? Rhodes shares the story behind the tool’s creation, and the web of politics and economics that keep it from mainstream use.

Why you should listen to her:

For all of the lives it saves, mammography still cannot detect the early onset of breast cancer in as many as one of every four women ages 40 to 49. And women with dense breast tissue are four to six times more likely to develop cancer than others. Deborah Rhodes and her colleagues at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota think they’ve found an effective way to screen these high-risk patients: molecular imaging.

Thank you.

Thanks for putting this up. I’m a high risk and have dense breast tissue and prone to cysts. Mammograms suck but thats the only thing I am offered for detection because thats the only thing insurance will pay for.

This was fantastic. I was able to sit and watch the entire 20 minutes and it made me think of my Mom. Would they have found her cancer sooner if she had this test and not have lost both breasts? Thank you so very much for sharing this. Even a bigger thanks that you are a male sharing this with us.

Thank you for sharing this info. I actually just scheduled my mammogram this past Thursday. I’m glad I saw this in time to ask some important questions when I go. P.S. I saw that you’ve ordered “365 Thank Yous” by John Kralik. I’d like to invite you to join our group here to share your thoughts and experiences.
