Wilderness

In the cold brood of a desert night

that frosty air is escaping your lips

saying things that hurt my ears

making my heart race

I want to reach out

and silence your once gentle lips

and tell you that you don’t have to be afraid alone

you don’t have to run

we can be scared, broken,

and selfish creatures

together you and I

on a painfully clear starlit night

Love this. It feels like you’ve caught a simple moment in time, yet one that is so powerful.
