 Thank you to all who left messages. Funerals and the arrangements following a sudden death are never easy. Fortunately the coroner did his thing quickly and we got on with the task.

The service was good at the Methodist Church where they got married 17 years ago. A lovely picture of him and a good service with the Navy hymn and good old Rock of Ages – don’t ask me why about the latter but he had been a seaman for most of his working life so that was good.

He had the white ensign (should have been Red) but the thought was there and allegedly it came from HMS Belfast umpteen years ago.

Mum is a bit wobbly but that is no surprise. She has people around her and will have until next week and then – well thats to come
