Political Paranoia

profile for riverwolf

Just for clarification, this is NOT directed at anyone on OpenDiary, any of my family, or anyone that I know. A conversation with a couple of friends in the past couple of days, one on each side of the political aisle, caused my feelings to be put into words here.

Paranoia
Function: noun
Etymology: New Latin, from Greek, madness, from paranous demented, from para- + nous mind
Date: circa 1811
1 : a psychosis characterized by systematized delusions of persecution or grandeur usually without hallucinations
2 : a tendency on the part of an individual or group toward excessive or irrational suspiciousness and distrustfulness of others

Paranoia is all I seem to see these days when it comes to the political parties.

The Democrats are paranoid that they are going to fall from the grace they have so recently attained. In addition, they also believe that they will lose the moral high ground they recent achieved because, apparently, the Republican Party has decided to act like the Democrats with their fast and loose ways.

The Republicans, however, seem to be on the paranoid side of thinking the Democrats are going to turn the United States of America into the newest country this planet has seen – The Socialist States of America.

It’s a damned shame that neither of the parties or any, and I mean ANY, of their followers know what is going to happen. You can guess and speculate and maybe even prophesize, but I guarantee that you can’t see into the future anymore than the next person.

So, while you are busy listening to the person that gives you your daily dose of political bullshit, remember that the person you are listening to doesn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to their “predictions.”

And, while you’re at it, leave the news reporting to the newsies. They already wrote the story and have it published. You don’t need to re-publish it here, on Facebook, MySpace, or any of the multitude of forums on the World Wide Web. No one really cares.

Yup, when are all of the high-minded public servants gonna remember the servant part of their title? They *both parties* confuse me when they spend $$$$ on a $ salaried job. Go figure, huh? BUT, and that’s a big BUT, this system is the better than any out there.
