I think that possibly, maybe…

I started an entry on Friday evening documenting my anniversary on the 1st of May. Unfortunately, my way with words has gone the way of the dodo. It makes for a disjointed discourse.

Friday was a very special day. It was a “5” day. Most already know what I am referring to, but for those that don’t, allow me to fill you in. Friday was my five year anniversary.

Five. Five seconds, five minutes, five hours, five days, five weeks, five months, five years, five decades. It’s only five years and there are times it’s only seemed like 5 seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months. There are also other times it feels like every minute of the five years and other times that it’s seemed like five decades. For the most part, it’s been a great run so far. I wouldn’t take anything for the time.

Since I know that my wife will be giving me a dirty look as soon as she reads this, I will say that the times that felt the longest was when we were both apart. So, honey, don’t get upset. I love you very much.

And, I will dedicate this song to her. And say this: I have most definitely fallen for you.

I love you Gina, with all my heart.

I went through a phone hearing with the Unemployment Insurance Commission of Wisconsin on the 27th of April. See, Marten had decided to contest my unemployment benefits and asked for a hearing to determine my eligibility for the monies that I was being paid. My anxiety went through the roof and I had to take a pill and ended up taking a nap later that afternoon.

Three days later, I checked the mail and had received a letter from the Madison Hearing Office and, while standing outside, I opened it up.

Needless to say, I freaked my wife out (who was conveniently off work on Thursday and Friday) when I came into the house screaming “I WON! I WON!” Then proceeded to read to her the results of the hearing and the fact that Marten was told that I would continue to receive my unemployment benefits. Talk about a HUGE weight taken off of my shoulders.

The St. Louis Cardinals have been playing decently this year…that is up until the last few games. I have been paying attention to them and watching them go from the top team in baseball to 4th or 5th is difficult for a fan. But losing the star pitcher (Carpenter on the DL for a pulled muscle) and a great center fielder (Ankiel on the day-to-day list for smacking the left-center wall with his face) makes for a bad few games. Maybe we’ll be a little better once Carpenter is back as our star pitcher.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

Yes, the Cards are playing well, and I see that the All-Star game is in St Louis this year! Woo!! One of these weekends this season we have GOT to get up to St Louis and catch a game! And, of course, a very happy “5” anniversary for you and Gina!
