Feeling Frozen..fersure!

It’s been a while since I wrote a real entry. I need to try and get back into writing in this thing again before I lose my interest again for another 2 years. Like I did before.

The problem is that there’s nothing really going on. It’s cold where I’m at (Morris, IL at a balmy -4 degrees) and I’m waiting for my load to get loaded so I an run it the 40 miles that I am tasked to do to get it onto a rail yard so it may get onto a train so that it may get to its destination on time.

[45 minutes later]

Load is ready but I can’t get the reefer started. And that’s not good as it’s supposed to be set at 65 degree and it’s showing 22 degrees inside the trailer. Although, after consulting with the shipper, I don’t know why it matters as the freight is cookies and crackers (not lame white people).

So, I’ve got to stop by the Pilot, fuel the trailer to ensure it’s got a full tank, and then head for a shop to get the reefer started and then on to the rail yard.

Can you tell I live such an interesting life?

I guess I might’ve gotten the reefer started myself if I had a set of jumper cables. It sounds more like the battery is dead than the fuel is gelled up. But, I’m not a mechanic (and probably never will be), so I’ll leave the diagnosis to someone more knkowledgable than me.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

I’ve noticed that you have been less frequent with your entries but I read your mother too and it sounds like there have been some issues going on in your family…couple that with the holidays and post holiday letdown… it’s pretty hard to concentrate on OD. Is your other half ok? She rarely updates or is that normal for her?

Heard from a trucker friend last night, he was stuck in the cold in Michigan. Sure glad Don is off the road. I don’t envy you over the road guys! Hope things are better by now.
