It’s time, that’s right, for Kyle’s –

Adventures in GeoCaching!

In this episode, we find our hero, Kyle, at a rest area in Wisconsin. And, we’ll take a look at his GPSr to see where things stand:

Strange, it seems to be displaying some weird information concerning altitude. I wonder if that means anything?

Well, obviously it does. As it turns out, I went after this cache about 3 weeks ago when I was through here before and it ended up being a DNF (Did Not Find) on my list. I stopped by again today to see if maybe the cache owner had removed it for some reason, like maintenance, and I just so happened to be the one to show up on the day it wasn’t there.

Unfortunately, there was no such luck headed in my direction for this cache. After walking up the trail –

– I came to a fork in the road and I decided to take the path less traveled. Oops, I’m quoting someone else’s works by saying that and should cease and desist.

The more traveled road went to this bridge –

– which I would’ve loved to see where it led but really didn’t have the time to meander all over everywhere. I instead went the other way and climbed…and climbed…and climbed…to where I was, well see for yourself.

225 feet higher at the summit than I was at my truck and, I was a quarter mile away from the cache when I parked. *whew* It was a hike for sure but yet, the bad thing about it is that the cache still wasn’t there.

But the view was spectacular!

About midway in the trees on the left side of this picture is my truck. You can barely see it.

The trip down was much easier, obviously, than the trip up but it was a fun little hike that I took to get there at see something, again, that was not expected at a rest area. I should stop thinking that all the rest areas are bland because I always seem to find something that’s worthy of interest at them.

Like this –

I like how they integrated the rocks in the path.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

What GORGEOUS scenery!!! I like when you chronicle the route to the cache – whether it’s there or not. Oh, and as long as you credit the original author quoting is all good! 🙂

Maybe that’s not where the cache is supposed to be.

What a pretty walk and the scenery is spectacular. Especially for someone from Kansas like me!
