Getting Back to Basics

I think I need to get back on track with actually writing instead of copying out of a book. While I am enjoying doing my “Introduction to Wicca” for people’s perusal, I doubt very seriously that it will continue to be so “popular.” LOL

Back on the road again, obviously, and today wasn’t that great of a day. Yesterday involved getting loaded in West Memphis, AR and leaving there at 5 p.m. to be in Baton Rouge, LA by 12:15 a.m. Almost 400 miles in 7 hours, 15 minutes and I barely made it on time. Even so, I wasn’t unloaded until almost 5 this morning.

The problem with interrupted sleep like that is that it messes with my head. In the worst way I mean. I woke up this morning at 9ish with a nagging beginning of a headache that never really went away after I took a couple of Advil. So, my day has encompassed lying about in the truck, waking up every now and then to a pounding throb behind my temples, and going back to sleep. About noon I took a couple of Aleve and went back to sleep until 3:30 this afternoon. I still have the niggling ache back there but I can tell it’s in recession. I’ll even sleep good tonight with all this sleep I’ve gotten.

I’m going to discuss a few things of the political nature now. So, if you prefer not to read, I suggest you just skip past here and go about your business.

I mentioned a “dirty word” in an above paragraph – recession. And, while most people won’t agree with me, I believe we are in the midst of one right now and headed for full-blown depression.

I despise being lied to. A trait, I’m sure, most other people in the world share with me. But, for some reason, the people in Washington can’t seem to put two words together without one of them being a lie – which is why I voted the way I did.

But, I digress.

The reason I think we are in a depression is that the government hasn’t been honest with us about the “numbers.” You know the “numbers” don’t you? Those are released every month or quarter showing what the economy did. However, the “numbers” are skewed to make it look as if things are going better than they are.

I mean, think about this. According to the people with the “numbers,” our economy grew at an astounding .6% in the first quarter of this year. Wow, impressive, isn’t it? But, and here’s the rub, that number isn’t taking into consideration the top three expenses of most Americans: Food, Housing, and Fuel.

Now, fuel is going down in price as most people can tell when they fill up their gas tank for their trips to work. But, the housing market is in a obvious shambles and the food market is still reeling from the fuel prices. I mean, come on! A gallon of milk should NOT cost five dollars in our country. But yet, it does/did.

Everyone I know has been feeling the pinch of the economy on them in one way or another. The same $100 doesn’t buy as much food as it did 18 months ago. The house has lost 50 % of its intrinsic value. 6 months ago, it cost my wife and me $50 to fill up our Kia Optima. Luckily, the fuel prices have dropped with the massive drop in the stick market and I’m probably not the only one happy about that in one way or another.

Now, they are talking about bailing out the big 3 car manufacturers. I truly hope that they don’t but, if they do, there ought to be some conditions set forth before one penny is released to the companies. First and foremost, they should be required to close their manufacturing facilities in other countries and being those jobs back to America. More jobs is always best for America in the long run. And, if they refuse, tell them to go to the countries they have those factories in and get the money from them. A good friend gave me those suggestions and I happen to agree with them.

Arg. Sometimes I wonder if all this is worth the letters it’s typed in.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

Some interesting thoughts there my friend. Do you have any examples from your own life of how The Rule (Law?) of Three has worked in your life?

If they’d kept their business here they might not NEED to be bailed out. Still, good idea.

hope you get some rest.
