Bad News/Good News & Other Ramblings
The bad news is that I am not changing jobs. As it turns out, there was a major deal with the new company that I did not like which, of course, soured the deal quickly. It seems that the pay was misrepresented to me from the beginning until I had gotten into their office and was told the truth. While I wouldve been happy to take the job with the pay cut that I was expecting, the way they pay was unacceptable to me.
The good news is that I did not turn in my notice to the company I am with so I will continue to have a job for the time being. I am, however, still looking at options on jobs in the immediate vicinity of my residence and will hopefully find something that will work for me and Gina.
Gina is disappointed but understands. I am extremely disappointed but am more upset at being lied to that got me to waste an afternoon and the gas to drive an hour away from home when I couldve been doing something else hat day like geocaching.
Speaking of geocaching, I contacted a company a little while back about some geocoins. In case you dont know what geocoins are, let me explain. They are minted metal coins, ranging in size from 1 to 3 in diameter or sometimes a special shape, and are trackable online. I have seen and held coins in my hand that have traveled well over 10,000 miles. I have personally added close to 1,800 miles to one particular coin.
Well, to have them minted and made trackable, costs a LOT of money. 100 coins of your own design (a personal geocoin) would cost about $5.50 a coin to produce. 250 coins, minted and trackable, with its own personalized online icon, would cost about $5 per coin.
Yeah, very expensive. I wouldnt mind having the money to do this and, should I ever win the lottery, it will be about the 5th thing I do with the money I have won. And, if frogs had wings, they wouldnt bump their asses on the ground (see mom, I remember!).
As for geocaching itself, I am still enjoying it very much although I am ready to start headed in another direction with the truck as I am exhausting my supply of truck friendly geocaches from running east of the Mississippi all the time. But, I am just a lowly company driver; I must go where I am told.
Till Next Time,
Blessings!

Daddy always said if frogs had wings they wouldn’t bump their butts on the lilypads crossin’ the ponds! Wonder if our parents are somehow related . . . LOL
