My Take

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I wish I could’ve been at home instead of driving that day, but overall, it wasn’t a bad day.

Politics: a subject that should never, ever be discussed among friends. From what I understand, it’s one of the best ways to lose friends and influence people to hate you. That being said, I just have to give my take on the whole process that is going on right now on the television, radio and Internet.

It’s difficult to choose a side for me. I look at both of the candidates and see two very corrupt, self-indulging individuals (I thought I would be nice by saying individuals instead of what I felt like saying) that care nothing for the good of the country but care more for whether or not they can say that he, or he, is President of the United States.

Barrack Hussein Obama and John Sidney McCain are both non-caring people that care only for the corporate money that they are given. Don’t let any other words that they say fool you into believing otherwise. Obama cares nothing for change and McCain is no maverick. It’s all about the money that they can get. Obama wants your guns and McCain wants amnesty for criminal immigrants. Either way, the country is weakened by one or the other of these men.

So, to that end, I am casting my vote, early no doubt because of my choice in careers, for

[drum roll please]

None of the Above!

And, there’s a reason for this.

Why should I pick what is the “lesser of two evils” when someone could conceivably step up and actually *gasp* WANT to help this country reach the place it deserves to be?

Besides, as a comic put it (not sure which one…if you know, I’ll give him credit), choosing the President of the United States is like a man, walking into a sex shop, looking at a 12” white dildo and a 12” black dildo and trying to determine which one will hurt the least. Personally, I don’t want to hurt all at.

There was a saying that circulated during the whole peace movement, and may still be for all I know, that stated, “What if we had a war and nobody showed up?”

I’m taking that one step further by saying, “What if we held an election and nobody showed up?” What kind of message would that send to the people that are thinking of running for the highest office in our land? THAT’S why I’m voting the way I am. I’m trying to send a message to these people that I’m sick of seeing corrupt people trying to be the enforcer of the law. Yeah, that’s right. They are criminals that are trying to head up the law enforcement division of our government. Don’t we usually put the criminals in jail?

Now, before you get on your high horse and start blasting me for picking on your candidate, just stop. Personally, I don’t want to hear it…or read it. Blasting me for not participating in the election process and saying that “if you don’t vote, you can’t bitch about it later” is just going to cause your note to be deleted. I can complain if I want. That’s one of the rights given to me by the Bill of Rights…specifically the First Amendment. You know, Freedom of Speech and all that.

Let’s get to the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.

I only have one thing to say about this: BAD IDEA!

And I’ll leave it at that.

Till Next Time,
Blessings!

I agree with all you’ve said here. I’ve stated time and again that I may not vote this year, there is no “lesser of the two evils” to vote for! If I do go in, I may just use a write in vote and put “Bill” on the ballot. LOL I’m so sick of this election crap this year of two grown men acting like kindergarten children and all the name calling.

It’s been three or four elections since it wasn’t a lesser of the evils choice to make which is a sad state of affairs. I see nothing wrong with you having stated your opinions here. It IS after all YOUR diary!!

ryn: The sign, or the stuff I went to tonight? Neither is a church! I loved that sign my friend made for me. You should see some of the other ones he made for himself and his wife… so cool! All wiccan. It really improved my mood over the whole work thing and the whole giving Kol Nidre a chance thing. Heh. Take care,
