Final Stages
I am sitting in Mom’s darkened hospital room listening to her shallow breath. She came in with the flu almost a week ago and has deteriorated to the point that we think she will pass soon. The family has been coming and going each day. This the first time I can sit here and feel close to her. The quiet is good.
She said all her goodbyes yesterday and is now slipping away.
She would have been 102 on 2/11/11. A real achievement.
She always said what a wonderful life she had. Loving parents, loving husband, loving kids, grand kids and great-grand kids. There was so much laughter in our house. Only the best memories.
She will be missed by so many people.
I love you, Mom!
What a beautiful entry. Your mother is so blessed to slip peacefully out of life with those who love her present.
