Baseball 2012
JT and I went to OP’s first game last Saturday. The game was at 2pm and MJ told me he was up and dressed in his uniform by 7:30 am. He was so excited. He is playing for the “River Cats”.
Now get this, he has his bat and catcher mitt, right? He also has his batting gloves, wrist bands AND his chewing gum… MUST have “the chew”. Then he was ready to play.
He hit, ran (including the slide into each base) and caught like a pro… And he is only seven (eight in August).
I am so proud of him.
My grand son is nine and pitched a shutout Tuesday night.

Baseball in its purest form. Little League. It pretty much goes down hill from high school to the dregs of pampered millionaires trying to make like they are really interested in The Game. Enjoy his moment in the sun, it will be long gone all too soon. I really miss watching my grandsons play. Be well.

Ah, yes, I remeber those days. My youngest grandson is now 14, a seasoned veteran. These guys are playing “real” baseball and it’s not near as much fun as when they were 7.

How delightful! I hope he retains his joy in the sport as he gets older.

How thrilling, for him and you two.
