Toms Shoes and Other Thoughts
I have fallen in love with Toms Shoes! For every pair that is bought, a pair is given to a shoeless child somewhere in the world.
I now own two pair. They are the most comfortable casual shoes I have ever owned.
I sent for a pair of Tiny Toms as one of EL’s birthday gifts. They are pink sparkle! They just arrived at my door. I was worried they would not be here in time.
I had been checking the web site daily for weeks and the pink sparkle were not available. Then, just in time to order and receive by her birthday… there they were!
Little happy dance!!!
Can’t wait until her birthday party tomorrow.
I also bought a little ‘family’ of dolls, including a mother, father, boy, girl, and grandparents. I found a couple of cute outfits at Costco too.
LP want me to teach her to sew and we are going to make sun dresses out of MJ’s old dress shirts. I found a cute sundress that we can use as the pattern for this project.
I used to sew a lot and this project may get me back into it again. The last thing I made was a multi – purpose bag for a walker. My mother asked me for something to carry her misc. necessities in. I made a pattern out of paper and tested it on the walker. When I had the size right and she was happy, I bought a scrap of medium weight cloth and whipped it up. Has two internal pockets and Velcro ties and closures. Easy to take on and off and easy to keep closed. She loves it. Since then i’ve seem some bags but they are all too long and no pockets. She thinks I should go in to business.
Hummm.
Toms shoes are a lovely idea and though they’re sold here, are totally impractical for all the rain we get! They are almost identical to my T’ai Chi shoes, though without the harder sole on the bottom. I saw a little boy in bright red Tiny Toms the other day and they looked adorable!

My cousin’s daughter had a pair of Tom’s shoes when I saw her last winter, and I LOVED them — they were grey canvas, and I’ve meant to get a pair myself. I’m glad you mentioned them, since I kept forgetting to do it. As I recall, they were very reasonably priced and VERY cute.
