Robin Hood?

There is this almost constant ‘knocking’ sound coming from the front of our house. I keep looking out and see nothing. It moves from the dining room downstairs to the guest bedroom upstairs.

Upon further investigation, I see marks all over the window panes on four different windows.

More investigation (hiding behind curtains) reveals a very fat robin trying desperately to get into our house.

Why?

I keep telling our parrot, Buster, that she wants to mate with him.

Or maybe she just wants a warm, safe place to build a nest and lay her eggs.

Hope she finds a better location soon. I don’t want to find broken eggs on the flagstone.

she / he may be attacking his/ her reflection… attempting to guard a nest. I’ve installed screens to prevent accidental flights into my windows. Sometimes they think it’s woods or garden that they’re flying into- because of the reflection. Other times it’s the “other bird” that they see… pooor lil thing!
