tepid lemonade

We celebrated Ben’s birthday yesterday.

I cooked us bacon, eggs, toast and beans for breakfast.
Ben opened his presents.
We walked into town (in the pouring rain) to get a few things. 
We lazed around the flat the rest of the day.
Then, I lured Ben into town with promises of dinner, but really I had organised a surprise birthday party for him 😀 
We went to Laserquest and his friends were all there and all shouted surprise when we walked in the door. He really was surprised and it was perfect. 
We played 2 games. I aim like a girl. I was pretty terrible. But fun! Fun was had by all.
We were all starving an hour later and walked to the pub for supper. mmmm Burgers.
Then birthday sex! the best kind of sex. 

It was the perfect way to end the year together.
He caught a 6am flight this morning and now he’s gone home for christmas, new year and his birthday for 3 whole weeks.
I’m not really sure what I’m going to do without him. This is definitely the longest we’ve been apart since we started living together 2½ years ago. And I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. Right now I’m sitting here with Elroy and it just feels like we’re waiting for him to come home from work.

It also seemed like Ben was trying to have as much sex as possible before he left.
4 nights in a row.
I think my facebook status would be "My nipples are sore" if I wasn’t friends with my mom and dad on there haha.

I managed to spend £75 in tesco this morning. I went shopping with the intention of just buying enough food to feed me for the 3 weeks Ben’s away and just ended up buying all the things I used to love when I lived by myself. Stuff I don’t get anymore.
I also got some boots. I leave for Prague on Tuesday and apparently it’s really cold there at the moment. I learnt the hard way that my current boots have a hole in them. Walking around Canada in the rain with a soggy sock was not fun.

On Tuesday Rachael and I went for a spa day. She found a groupon deal for 2 people and asked me if I wanted to split it with her.
Our day went something like this:
Pool to steam room to pool to jacuzzi to sauna to jacuzzi to sauna to pool to jacuzzi. With showers between every part of course!
It was a pretty relaxing 2 hours. With lots of chatting. Wonderful.
Then it was time for lunch. Our voucher included cream tea! Delicious sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, strawberry mousse in chocolate cases, custard and fruit tarts, mince pies, tea, water and mulled wine!! We did a bit of shopping and then watched some tv at my place before she went home.

The last few days have just been so lovely.
