If a price falls in the grove and no one is there.

Some of the most fun days just fly by, and yet I don’t feel as though today went too quickly.  Time well spent, I guess, takes just the right amount of time.

As soon as my feet hit the floor this morning I brushed hair and teeth, washed my face, threw on some clothes and drove to Knickers to pick her up and get, as quickly as possible, to a gigantic church yard sales. Okay, okay, I guess those big buildings are good for something.

This church’s members donate items all year long, storing them in rented storage units. In one day they fill most of the rooms of the church with the stuff, loosely sorted into categories.  They start with incredibly low prices at 8:00 and then after lunch they start really making deals. Remember the other day when I bought a small grove of trees for 32.00? Today I got 9 more trees for 17 dollars. One of them was a fake apple tree with lovely red apples on it that originally had 35.00 on it. Actually, I didn’t get them.  Maybe I should back up.

After Knickers and I got there and saw the great prices, she texted our boss. We are getting ready to open another school  a little north of here. they have been looking for school furniture for the new school. She came up and we all continued shopping. Books, fake fruits and veggies for play props, baby clothes, a fish tank (yes!), skates for The Babe. Dr. Awesome, my boss, found a beautiful corner shelf, a massage table (for a sick bed at the other school), an antique desk. Check this out! After some of the stuff had been cleared out I spotted something along the wall. A free standing 4 1/2 foot by 12 foot magnetic dry erase board with one side white and one side off white for ten dollars. The off white side is for kids with dyslexia. This would cost hundreds of dollar new!  Dr. Awesome is still recovering from being ill for so long. Knickers is 8 months pregnant, so I not only shopped for me and mine and the play props but I played the gopher and carrier for them. We got so much done. Dr. Awesome offered to take us out to lunch. I was torn. I knew that the trees would cost next to nothing in a few hours, but I real-l-l-y wanted to go eat. My knight in shining armor drove up in his white truck and saved the grove!

Chuck wanted to check it all out anyway so he staked out the trees while browsing and waited for the prices to fall.

If the prices fall and no one is in the grove, does anyone get a bargain?

I gave him all the money in my purse. The people wanted to charge him 20.00 for all of them. He said that I had only given him 17.00 and they took it.  That was down from 130.00 dollars that I would have had to pay a few hours earlier.

Wow, I took a lot to say that.

We had fun eating out. We talked a lot about next years electives and who will be teaching what. I will be finished with my progress report completely tonight. I stopped for a few days but I only have one more to write and then proof reading to do.

If you made it to the end of my day add a smiley face to the beginning of your note, just for grins and giggles.

Love ya’s!

In Sandy soil I plant this seed, If even only I do heed.

In death is life; won’t be denied, grown by tears of sorrow cried.

The truth is harsh, the babes are dead, I’ll hold mine closer in their stead.

It’s all I have and know to do. I don’t admit those lives are through.

I will not waste this plot of land, it will not wither ‘neath my hand.

Come here my Love, look in my eyes,

Do you know how dear you are to me….?
