Not here
I am really distracted right now.
From the time I was a kid I knew I wanted to write. Throughout my life so far, nearly every time I wrote a story (always children’s stories) they ended up being for adults. I always have felt stymied in that I didn’t have in the me kind of story an adult would want to read but all my children’s stories have been too……grown up.
Last week though, an idea bowled me over and I am still reeling from it. All of my spare moments are spent wording thoughts in my head and arranging the sequencing of thoughts and events. I read your entries, I watch a movie, I read a book, I even hear a song and everything points to what has come to me to write. Yeah, I feel immersed. This has never happened before. I see the whole picture all at once. This must be what God feels like.
It makes it harder to write here because I am not going to share what I am going to write about yet. I know the magic of it would be gone if I did. When I sit down to write an entry here my stomach gets all wobbly at the knees.
Today was our last official day of school(work) before Christmas break. Tomorrow we take the upper school to Medieval Times in Dallas to eat a medieval meal while watching a tournament in the arena below. Thursday is the last day of school, comprised mostly of Gift exchange and party. Then, 27 days of no school. I want to start writing during the vacation and see how much actually materializes. If I don’t do many entries for a while you will know why. My fingers are craving other words to type than what I can put here.
My 40th birthday was celebrated a Medieval Times–a wish come true for me! LOL! I loved the whole thing. I’m so excited about meeting up with you on Sunday! Do you have any thoughts about where and what? I think the weather is supposed to turn cold, possibly even get wet on Sunday…

Great childrens’ books are greater adult books. I’ve said it before, you are very readable. who knows, another J. K. Rawling?

Midieval Times is lots of fun. Daughter and I went years ago when she was about 12. We had a ball. My biggest wish for you right now is that you are given the time, the freedom, and the strength to hash out your story. Best of luck!

It’s exciting when that kind of inspiration strikes. I look forward to hearing more about it once you’ve brought the idea to fruition.
