Future Mama Bears of America
Last night Knickers and I had a lock-in for the high school girls. I have not laughed as much or as hard as I did last night for quite a while. The best part (of course) was when the boys conducted a raid on the girls, headed by none other than BootyBoy.
For those of you new to my diary, he is my son-in-law and Knickers is my oldest daughter. They both teach at the same school I do and are how I came to be connected to the school.
Seven high school girls plus The Babe (my 8 year old) and two girls in between, agewise.
One of the best and scariest parts of the school, for a lock-in, are the long, distant and dark halls. As the boys surrounded the school and tried to capture the girls the frequency and volume of the screaming intensified. At some point I realized that The Babe, being a few heads shorter than the shortest girl, was very likely to get trampled in a dark hallway by the screaming throng and their pursuers. I went to check on her. The mom of another younger girl came with me. After calling their names alllllll the way to the other end of the school and asking every girl on the way if they knew where they were, we were a wee bit concerned. As we turned to go back and look more thoroughly we heard the newly charged screamfest approaching. But the frantic, pounding footfalls of a retreating boy were even closer. We stepped back into a corner of the hall so as to not get trampled ourselves, not realizing that we had actually concealed ourselves from view. Boy charger, who had about ten feet of space between him and the Future Mama Bears of America clan, flew breathlessly around the corner and was about to unknowingly brush right past me on his way OOUUTTT!!!!
Always mindful of my girls and taking every healthy moment to indulge them I grabbed him from my dark corner. He was a Junior, but via the element of surprise I was able to swiftly fling him around to face the music. Within just a second and before he had time to get away my charges stormed the castle and I threw the sacrificial boy into their midst. And who to my wondering eyes should appear in the middle, but near the front, of the clan? The Babe, eyes snapping, face shining, she roared and screamed with laughter and vigor and play and fight, "GET HIM!!!"
For the next three hours nerf bullets and wads of paper flew amidst captures, battles and rescues with hardly any injuries and none serious.
Before the boys got there we had a spa lady come in and give the girls facials so they were prettied up, pumped AND ferocious. An intimidating combination when you consider the enemy.
It was fun to see the different personalities come out of girls who normally try to be on their best behavior at school. I can’t tell you how many times I threw my own head back and roared with laughter at and with them.
Another highlight of the night for me was when I was passing by Knickers classroom and another Junior boy, tall dark and captured saw me through the window in the door. "Please, Mrs. OH, HELP ME!!" he shrieked.
I opened the door, pointed at him with my best fussy teacher finger wagging and said, as sternly as I could with a twinkle in my eye, "You WILL behave in my class, from now on!!!" and slammed the door shut with much feeling. He shrieked again but this time he was laughing. Point taken. ROTFLOL (at my witty self).
Sounds like you had a rollicking good time! LOL!

Sounds like a riot! (We never got to do anything like that when I was in school.) I’m glad The Babe had fun and didn’t get trampled. Hopefully the boys survived the ordeal. ;o)

You know, in my head I write like you do. I write with interesting language and great stories, but then when I get to my diary everything that was in my head stays there, and I’m left with boring one line events.
