preparing
I sat down to write an entry, and Lucy said "momma poo poo!" so I assumed she needed her diaper changed. She said "Go on potty?" and I said "YEAH!" so we went and she pooped on her potty! For the first time! She goes number 1 all the time but she hasn’t really done a real poop on there yet. This is classy, I know. So im really proud of her. It distracted me from writing anything in here.
Also, today we set up Lucy’s big girl bed. Its always been in her room, but it was set up at adult height as a guest bed and shes never slept in it. So today we lowered it and moved it against the wall. Her crib is still set up though, just moved to the other side of the room. Im not sure about that. I was hesitant to take it down on the first night. What if she wont sleep in the bed and cries for the crib?? I wanted it there just in case. We’ll see how it goes I guess. And Lucy has a little cold or just something off today…her nose is running and stuffed at the same time and its making her act weird. But she’s been sleeping great.
We had her 2nd birthday party on her actual birthday, Saturday the 20th. It went really well and was so cute. Ill have to post some pictures when I have some more patience. She is so cute and well behaved, beautiful, smart, and getting so big. She says complete sentences (short ones). She counts to 4 by herself all the time. She loves singing songs with me, like twinkle twinkle. Shes still a sweet love bug too, at least with me, and cuddles. My mom keeps telling me I will miss these moments because she wont cuddle for long. I think she will!
Since we know we’re getting our Isla, I went through my stored baby stuff and organized it today. I sorted the clothes in boxes according to size. I have a ton of cute newborn/3 months stuff I’m excited to use again. Some of it Lucy never wore. I have so many tiny little hats and stuff. I found her coming home outfit and separated it from the rest, so Isla can wear the same outfit, with a different hat. Lucy only wore it that one day, for like 4 hours, and never wore it again. And I paid 40 bucks for it!!! I know im crazy.
Im so happy to be having 2 girls. Another girl! Im happy I can reuse Lucy’s stuff that I got so attached to, like my favorite outfits of hers that she wore only a couple times- I get to use them again. Its like getting another chance to do the baby stages RIGHT this time, after learning so much through trial and error. not that I will do it all the right way or anything. But the unknown is gone, and I have experience, and I wont be so freaked out. It will be harder juggling 2 kids though, or course. And Lucy’s stages will always be a new thing to me. I love Isla already. I hope Paul settles on Isla Joy. He is still throwing out middle name ideas and I’m like….we already have her middle name! Oh well…he’ll get with the program 🙂
Im out of motivation to type this. So tired after a day of heavy cleaning and organizing. Normally im tired from running around, school, standing all day at work, etc. So this is a nice kind of tired, where I got to stay home with my munchkin all day. 🙂
I like the name, a lot. I hope the clothing fits. I had a boy…then, a girl…even the unisex stuff didn’t fit my girl because of her shape and size. It was annoying. I hope that it works out in your case.
