Just Day-by-Day
We have to redo our bathroom. The contractor who gutted our bathroom in 2001 did it wrong and the shower is leaking. The shower is rather large, so just tearing that out and replacing it is more than half a remodel. And now we know how to do this. So we are having the whole room done…again. And in the process, are having the old carpet torn out from the hallway and stairway, living room, and having hardwood floors put in so now we will have hardwood all throughout downstairs.
So again today we went out to look for tile and fixtures and towel racks. We have the sinks selected, the design created, and the lighting selected. It will be beautiful. Nut I am tired of selecting things…I am tired of thinking about the bathroom.
Whiner.
We went to the nursery today and selected a few new plants for the yard. Doug played in the yard and I made a couple of quilts. I finished my job *beamin with pride* and he didn’t. I didn’t take "rehydration breaks." Two quilts–one for my secretary’s soon-to-be grandbaby. It is her first and I know that feeling 🙂 So she gets one for the little guy to have at Gramma’s house. And the other one is for an instructor. He and his wife just had their third child. Third children don’t often get much, so he needs a quilt 🙂 He has no name yet…hope that changes by the time he is ready for school. It is so difficult for children to find their lunchbox and their jacket without a name. How would they know it was theirs?
Last, today was a day of pain. Hey if I am going to whine, I might as well really whine. But see I have this newish knee…no arthritis pain! YippeeSkippee!! But it is shorter than the other leg because the knee doesn’t go all the way straight. And that gets my body all out of whack. The lower back is always in spasms. Mostly I ignore it and go kn. I mean I can go on! I can walk so much farther than before! No arthritic pain! But lately my lower back has been messing with my upper back which is messing with my shoulders which is messing with my neck…and so I am in a bunch of pain. Sometimes it is just fine. Sometimes it is rather like having the flu aching body. This week is a closer to flu achy time.
Whining is over…peace~~~
and in my next life, i will marry a chiropractor… no lie… i bet the yard looks park-like this time of year… hope you feel better… you need a long soak in the hot tub… be well sophist…

Wow. It seems like only yesterday that you were doing that last remodel, having that first grandbaby, and feeling the awful pain in the old knee. Well here’s to a full body massage, steamy hot water showers and baths in a gorgeous newly done bathroom, a named 3rd child of the instructor with an exquisite handmade quilt all his very own, and many happy days ahead to whine as you see fit. In spite of your declarations about whining, you sound so happy and content it makes me smile just reading.

Sounds like you’ll be busy with some summer projects. More remodeling. I remember the original bathroom job too. You can whine all you like. It’s allowed. Do chiro’s help? They do for me in a lot of situations.

I hope you feel better soon. I knonw of what you speack regarding arthritis knee pain. I can’t wait to have nice enough weather to have plants outdoors, although I’m not sure I’ll have any out this year if we end up moving in June or July. Time will tell soon I hope. I won’t be doing a redo but hopefully will soon be moving into our new house, keep us in your prayers that our place sells soon.
