A Rant

I was duped into joining the Union. I immediately wanted to withdraw as soon as I joined, but I thought I would give it a chance. When I started receiving all the emails about the stupid cases they were taking on and the type of employees they were representing I really wanted to get out. People are using the union to get away with not doing their jobs. Anytime management tries to reprimand them or take corrective action, they file a grievance. It makes management ineffective and employees less productive.

Today I found out that if you join, you have to wait a year to withdraw. I was livid. I have not been this angry in a long time. I feel like I signed a membership to a crappy gym that I’m never going to go to. So now I am stuck paying membership fees for a union that I have no use of. I should have known something was up when the union rep literally ran away with my application as I was signing it. The first chance I get I am going to withdraw. No one in my office new this information. That seems shady. The information is available, we just don’t have time to look it up. I was angry enough to write a letter and start some shit against the union, but I digress. I didn’t read the fine print so shame on me.

My boss let me rant in his office for like 30 minutes. I mean I lost my mind. He told me to come in and let it out. I was screaming and cussing, you would have thought somebody stole my man or something. Lesson learned, I will not sign up for nothing else.
