never could be sweeter than with you [CoA 20 & 21]
song: home – artist: edward sharpe & the magnetic zeros (but this cover remains my favorite)
[since I’ve got 4 of these that need to be done, I’m going with two sets of two]

I scored this watch on sale at Target for $10. Which was a pretty sweet deal, I admit. But it kept losing time over the next few days. And it kept getting worse about it. So, over the weekend I’d stopped in at Walmart to see if a battery change would cure its time-losing ways. While I was waiting for someone in the jewelry department to become available, there was a little boy, probably around 10 or so, getting checked out. You guys, he was so ADORABLE! He had one of those drawstring backpacks, making me think he’d probably ridden his bike over to the store. From the bits of conversation I was catching, I gathered he’d been looking for some jewelery of some sort for, I’m assuming, his mom. He’d narrowed it down to two, finally decided on one item, and was in the process of purchasing the item as the woman behind the register offered to put up the other one for him.
There were two women working in that department that day, and while my watch battery was getting changed, the second woman came over after the boy had left. I didn’t catch all of the ladies’ conversation, either, but what I did catch made it clear they were smitten with that young fellow. He really was cute, and it was so great to see two adults in an establishment that isn’t necessarily known for the enthusiasm and friendliness of its employees so enthralled with a kid like that.
He came back as I was getting rung up to see if he could exchange some limp, wrinkly dollar bills for some crisp ones (I’m thinking for the vending machines). Thanks to his timing, they took care of it on the end of my transaction. And both women were obviously glad to see him again.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a Walmart trip filled with so much adorable before. It was AWESOME!

Brace yourself for the potential of a little TMI.
In a woman’s life, there eventually comes the time where the months find themselves endowed with magical times when, depending on the woman, chocolate becomes something of a necessity, among other cravings, of course. This magical time of month is when I’m most likely to forgo my compulsion to make baked goods healthier than their traditional counterparts. I will use sugar and probably white flour. Chocolate almost always makes its way in there, too.
Though the recipe has been printed out and hanging out in my recipe binder, awaiting its moment to be tried out for some time, this was the week it happened. Sweetmotherofpearl, y’all! THESE COOKIES ARE FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!! They are a copycat recipe for Levain Bakery’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies. I haven’t had the originals, so I’m not sure how they stack up in a comparison. But on their own? It’s like having your mouth entirely filled with AWESOME! That they were responsible for me finally buying and using peanut butter chips make me love them all the more. WHY HAVE I NOT USED PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS SOONER!?!
[what the "CoA" bit is about]
Heh. That was the least TMI in all the TMIs I’ve ever encountered.

That song has been on my top 10 the past year and I also discovered the cover and adore the hell out of it. SO FREAKING cute. It almost makes me cry! Those cookies sound scrumptious.

Annnnd you have fully, utterly cemented the fact that I need dark chocolate in my life right this moment. Maybe even five minutes ago.

Wow, what a space age watch! What brand is it, or is it not a brand? Not seen one like it before. I’ve never experienced that whole cake/chocolate time of the month thing, but everyone I work with does, and brings cookies and crap into work and I get fat! Peanut butter is great. Peanut brittle is also yumtastic.

Spinning is HARD. I have respect for your friends, even as hearing about them makes me feel less crazy. I keep at it, hoping that one day I’ll be able to produce something vaguely wool-like and make a blanket or something. Peanut butter chips sound amazing. They don’t exist in my part of the world, though. Sadness.

Ha, I have to agree with an above noter: that was barely any information in your TMI. I would now like chocolate. And cookies. And peanut butter. Together or apart, I’m not fussed. Also, is it just me or is that a MASSIVE watch?

Aha ha ha ha! I loves it! the TMI is so true though…seriously. xoxoxo
