A wise man once told me…
… a creative life is a happy life.
I have been thinking about what to do to get out of my rut. I’ve been stagnant lately. The other day I was talking with a friend and concluded that I should start a photo challenge.
I’m calling it Fifty Days of the Nifty Fifty. I’m hoping to come up with a better name before I start on the 23rd.
The rules are simple:
- From March 23rd to May 12th
- I can only use my 50 mm lens, aka the Nifty Fifty
- Macro tubes are allowed.
- The picture has to be taken that and posted on the same day
- The same general subject can only be used once every 10 days
It could get interesting because I’m thinking of selling my current camera before I get my new one. So there may be a break. The other alternative is to wait until I get my new camera and learn how to use it along with trying to complete the challenge I have set out for myself.
There is also the possibility of creating a 50-day shot list, that way I know what I’m going to go every day. That both takes away and adds to the creativity.
However it turns out, I’m sure it will be a fun photo adventure.

That sounds really interesting! 🙂 I’m in an artistic rut too, for what seems like forever. My last play was about a year ago, and my last published or paid for writing project was years ago. Life is a bit hectic right now, though, but isn’t there always an excuse?
