Update on Nelson

After a few hours in the ER, he came home. Drove himself. He’s sorta stubborn that way.

Strained, sprained, and bruised back and ribs. Contusion on his head.

He was stepping off his machine (a water jet) and tripped. He was holding a 50lb part he had just finished and the weight excellerated the fall.

They couldn’t tell him if there was anything more seriously injured in his spine due to swelling. He has to call a special Workers Comp Clinic in Akron for that because they’re not open on the weekend.

This morning he is sore beyond imagining. He even let me get his walker out of the shed. He had to use it after several of his ankle surgeries. He doesn’t need it so much for walking, but it helps him to stand up.

He hurts so bad he’s not going to church this morning. He figures he might be able to go, but he has these uncontrolable moans because of the pain and that wouldn’t be too good in church.

We were very touched that our pastor stopped by. We’re not sure how he found out so quickly, but he had gone to the hospital and then headed over here when he found out Nelson had been released. Later in the evening, the owner of the company where Nelson works (a very special kind of man, and business owner) called to check on how Nelson was doing. I have a very special husband. He cares so much about others–and it comes back to him.

So thanks for praying. I’ll let you know what we find out from the clinic when we do.
