Saw the doc today
Our scales just about match up exactly…rare to have that happen! So since July 1 I have lost 21 pounds. I feel good about that.
I went because my BP has been low recently. So of course when they took it in the office it was 137/80something. We have all decided I have “White Coat” syndrome. My heart doc was the one who told me about this phenomenon.
So we talked about my huge dietary changes and increase in activity and she suggested we start by cutting my itty bitty pill (Losartan 50mg) in half and continuing to monitor my BP. I’m good with that.
I told her that by November I hope to be off my cholesterol med (Simvastatin 10mg), too. She seemed surprised. If I get enough weight off by then (my goal by the 11/29 apt is another 30 pounds gone) I would want to consider stopping the omniprosol (heart burn med) as well.
I think it’s good to have goals. Those are mine.
And I’m still writing my book. I have the 2nd chap nearly complete. I also started working with a friend to write her story–amazing story of love, grace, forgiveness, and obedience.
Out of here for now.
Congratulations on the weight loss! RYN: who is the author? I’m always looking for good authors to read.

I saw you note on another’s diary. Good for you and your goals. Exercise and weight loss are critical to lowering cholesterol and triglycerides. If your doc is like mine though, she may not let you off the Simvastatin, even if your total cholesterol # is below 200. They all seem to really focus on the ratio of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Hopefully yours move the right way. Minedon’t even though I am on Simvastitn and have lost a lot of weight and have been exercising. Anyway, congratulations!

My overall cholesterol is slightly over 200 and my good outweighs the bad so I haven’t been put on an any meds. You are doing a great job.

Congratulations on the weight loss. Sometimes BP isn’t related at all to weight. Also, my mum isn’t overweight and has had problems with heart burn most of her life due to allergies. They didn’t know that she was allergic to wheat for a long time. Some things aren’t your fault at all.:)

That’s amazing progress! Congrats on all that :).

Congratulations on how well you are doing. Wish I could stick to my goals as well as you are. I suffer from depression frequently since my husband died and when I get depressed I eat.
