Dizzy Making

Now steeped in the process of finding information on restorative justice. Fascinating healing process for victims of violent crimes and the criminal. Also used in schools and globally like in Iraq and so on….Forgiveness and reconciliation, it’s like taking a giant leap backwards into the original tribal methods of restoring peace and justice. Pretty cool actually. That’s my self induced study for this term….good luck to me….I feel a bit like Upsa trying to pin down all the possibilities of this study.

So interesting. It seems like so much of our current troubles as a world are tribal in nature. To use a tribal method of restoring peace and justice makes sense. Best wishes on your studies.

This sounds like a facinating semester. The idea of tribal resolution is interesting. How are Rok and Upsa handling the earthquake?

I’ve been involved in restorative justice, conflict resolution, and the reconciliation process too. South Africa is a wonderful study in this…Mandela becoming president of the country, the truth and reconciliation commission, the establishment of a constitutional democracy…. It still has a long way to go but the elminination of apartheid has changed everything there. Did you choose restorative justice to study? I’m wondering how you decided to do that…?

We have some of that here. I’d describe it, but you don’t allow private notes and I don’t do identifying information…
