Hunger Games

"Oh, hey, haven’t you seen Battle Royale?"

Why is it that whenever people get excited about anything, others have to shit all over it? Ok, great, some Japanese film maker made a movie with a similar premise. Sort of, but not really. I only did a brief IMDb search, so I can’t be entirely sure.

Pointing it out doesn’t make you a smart movie critic, it makes you a dick.

What is so wrong with another generation getting excited over similar — not even the same, similar — ideas? Since when is adding onto a genre or an idea such an awful thing? Not to mention none of these people really cared when others talked about the books.

This was really just me venting due to a comment on Facebook. The guy who said it probably meant well enough, he’s a nice guy. But it’s still aggravating.

I imagined this coming out a little more articulate than it did. But I spent the majority of today actually moving around and it appears the mono is making me feel as if I’ve had a few drinks. I suppose that means I should go to bed.

i’m a cultural hermit and have no idea what hunger games is but it’s good to know that i can now feel superior to people by shitting on it and namedropping batoru rowaiaru (or as its known to all you gaijin philistines, “battle royale”) while rolling my eyes
